Viktor Frankl provides sacred insight to divine principles which, indeed, give eternal meaning for those who choose to live them.

For how intelligent and altruistic Brown's heros and heroines are, they're sure stupid. After the umpteenth time they found themselves double-crossed to, once again, be brought into imprisonment and torture... well, I just couldn't take any more. Their stupidity almost makes you want to cheer for the bad guys. Even Tim Gerard Reynolds (one of the best narrators in the business) couldn't save the story.
I never finished the book.
I never will.

A beautiful story of redemption. Well written with deep meaning. A wonderful prequel series to SULLIVAN’s Riyria stories. MJS knows how to weave a story.

This audiobook is wonderfully performed. The kind of book that makes you realize there are no true coincidences. I’ll never eat octopus again:)

After struggling through a third of the book, I gave up. Really disappointing and juvenile.
Is there not a decent author around who can write a book w/o splaying the F-word as a crutch?

It's a shame Adrian relies so heavily on filthy human language. Believe or not, we don't all talk like that. It ruined what was otherwise a great story, masterfully narrated.

Hail Mary is far better than The Martian. Worth every word and Weir’s best book by far.

I've read other Backman books, but this one is awful. According to Backman, any given teenager can't speak a single sentence without using the F-word - often, multiple times in the same sentence. It is a writing crutch Backman uses in lieu of actual prose, and it is a stupendously derisive caricature of young people. I don't believe every single teenager acts so irresponsibly and speaks with such vulgarity - even in Bear Town. Backman's misperceptions of young people only promote the social deterioration of a generation that has already been dealt an unfair hand. Ultimately, I had to give up on the book. This book is not even remotely written at the level of 'A Man Called Ove' or 'Anxious People'. I give it an 'F'.

One of the most profound novels I’ve ever read. Morally and cleanly written, it is a beautiful metaphor. In time, perhaps as impactful as Les Miserables.
