I gave this a listen with high hopes. Eventually I found myself skipping whole chapters because the author just dragged every little event out. I drive over an hour to and from work. I caught myself nodding off and turned the radio on.
I will not be following the adventures of our hero, or his merry band any further.
In the end, sheer boredom with the story, lack of character development, and my general lack of interest killed this story.

Story
Cade Korbin became a bounty hunter because he knew what it was like to be hunted. What he didn’t know was who he’d end up hunting. When it suited the Coalition, Cade was a Paladin, a member of their elite special forces. He did their dirty work and cleaned up their messes. Until his dark ops went public, and Cade was drummed out of the service with a dishonorable discharge. As if he’d ever been doing anything but following orders.

Sorry, I had high hopes for this one, no dice. it's a yawner at best. I found myself fast forwarding through most of the adjectives. There is much meat on the bones here. The only bright spot were the few plot twists, however predictable.

Here you have just good clean fun! The narrator does a bang up job. The story is not your typical time loop. This book is more about the character of the protagonist than anything else.
Sit back, relax and enjoy.

I can't give it zero stars or I would. Save your time and money, look elsewhere for entertainment. I kept giving it a few more chapters to see if it was just a rough start. It wasn't. This book was so bad that I really do think I could do better. If this can get published, anything can. I understand that there is actually a series. Hey, I can write a series too. Can I get published?

Yeehaw! Tired of the tiresome? Same old dropship military sci-fi? This ain't it baby. Stop going on a cerebral over thought ride of a story. Join our heroes as they gallantly galavant across space. Here I come to save the day.... lol! I lucked out and this was surprising, and fun. Our hero actually admitted he doesn't know how most of the tech works, just that it goes... pew, pew. Try the series, you won't regret it. Just what the doctor ordered. Damn it Jim, I'm a fan, not a writer!

Great concept, but...

It was a great story arc. I could care less about the author's politics, they are made very apparent. Seriously, I listen to escape for a few hours, not have a lesson in p.c. , politics and or anything else. The writing reminds me of me , at fifteen. The author repeatedly repeats the same words or phrases, sometimes in the same sentence. Too many adjectives is a poor way to fill a great story. I will buy the second book to see if the writing improves or if they hired a better editor.
It's a slow burn, and it's hard to care about the characters, because there is not any focus on any character back story. Just a bunch of people thrown into situations and they seem to be incredibly lucky. A fun romp, but I found myself wanting to fast forward, I did in some places because the writing was redundant.
Like I said, going to try book two. As long as I don't forget about the series before I buy the next installment, which is quite posible.

Not very encouraging...

I think the book had promise. It just sort of dragged on and on, our hero was supposed to be awesome. The Reaper! Yet, he kept doing the same things over and over. No sense of direction in plot other than to wander around getting shot at. No backstory to make you connect with the main or other characters. In short, snoozefest. The narrator almost started having fun, then would stop. Yawn. I used my monthly credit on it. It was worth that much. I wouldn't outright pay for it.
