Story
Hidden away in rural Devonshire, Phyllida Satterthwaite has always been considered more odd than beautiful. But in London, her oddity has made her a sensation. Far worse, it’s caught the eye of the sinister Duke of Moreland - a notorious art collector obsessed with acquiring one-of-a-kind treasures. To escape the duke’s clutches, she’s going to need a little help. Captain Arthur Heywood’s days of heroism are long past. Grievously injured in the Peninsular War, he can no longer walk unaided, let alone shoot a pistol. What use can he possibly be to a damsel in distress?

Very Sweet Story

It's a cute story - more "cuddly" than "spicy" and a little bit slow and lacking in conflict. A good listen if you are looking for low drama and healthy communication between lovers!

Story
The year is 1348. Thomas, a disgraced knight, has found a young girl alone in a dead Norman village. An orphan of the Black Death, and an almost unnerving picture of innocence, she tells Thomas that plague is only part of a larger cataclysm - that the fallen angels under Lucifer are rising in a second war on heaven, and that the world of men has fallen behind the lines of conflict. Is it delirium or is it faith? She believes she has seen the angels of God. She believes the righteous dead speak to her in dreams. And now she has convinced the faithless Thomas to shepherd her across a depraved landscape to Avignon.

Good story and nice narrator. Kind of gave me "The Witcher" type vibes. Would recommend.

Story
In the year 2045, reality is an ugly place. The only time Wade Watts really feels alive is when he’s jacked into the OASIS, a vast virtual world where most of humanity spends their days. When the eccentric creator of the OASIS dies, he leaves behind a series of fiendish puzzles, based on his obsession with the pop culture of decades past. Whoever is first to solve them will inherit his vast fortune—and control of the OASIS itself.

Great for 80's Babies
Reviewed: 04-22-22
This was actually a cool book and very thoroughly researched. I think it's just meant for a very specific target audience. I'm not a true 80s baby but I knew enough of the (zillions) of references to make it amusing. Wil Wheaton did great and it was funny that he had to refer to himself once or twice because his name was mentioned in the narrative. The story and character development were good, but I really worry that if you aren't old enough to get at least SOME of the references, you won't really like it much. that being said, if you love 80s video game and pop culture - THIS IS THE BOOK FOR YOU!

Story
It’s been 120 years since the 50 or so worldships containing the few million survivors of the human species set off after the planet Earth was destroyed by a meteor. On the Worldship Humility, Sam, a 30-year-old Airlock Operative, is bored. Living in space should be exciting and full of adventure, except it isn’t, and he fills his time hacking 3-D movie posters and holographic adverts outside the stores in the retail zone. Petty thief Yasmine Emile Dufont is also from the WS Humility, but she is not bored....

Story
First published in 1843, it tells the story of Ebenezer Scrooge, a mean and unpleasant man who dislikes people generally and Christmas especially. One Christmas Eve he is visited by the ghost of his former business partner Jacob Marley and the spirits of Christmas Past, Present and Yet to Come and given a glimpse of the many homes and lives which Scrooge has touched in his wretched life to date. After their visits, Scrooge is transformed into a kinder, gentler man.

I'd never actually read the original story before, only seen different adaptations of it. This was so good and Hugh Grant narrated it beautifully!

This is a great story and done in great narrating style. I especially enjoyed that there were two different narrators to illustrate different points of view.
