Story
After Lucy is found wandering the streets, covered in her best friend Savvy’s blood, everyone thinks she is a murderer. Lucy and Savvy were the golden girls of their small Texas town: pretty, smart, and enviable. Lucy married a dream guy with a big ring and an even bigger new home. Savvy was the social butterfly loved by all, and if you believe the rumors, especially popular with the men in town. It’s been years since that horrible night, a night Lucy can’t remember anything about, and she has since moved to LA and started a new life.

Great mystery!

Great mystery! Well rounded characters with flawed heroes and archetypes. Excellent narrator! The only criticism I have is there is alot of unnecessary language and sex, But overall, a good listen.

Sweet characters. Mystery and romance without too much sex and gore. Makes me wish I lived in "Old Town, VA."

Entertaining, beautifully written, and superbly performed. Brutally honest stories that women can relate to. It's so lovely to know that others think these things too.

Story
A coming-of-age tale for the young and naïve 17-year-old Catherine Morland, Northanger Abbey takes a decidedly comical look at themes of class, family, love and literature. Revelling in the sensationalist - and extremely popular - Gothic fiction of her day, the story follows Catherine out of Bath to the lofty manor of the Tilneys, where her overactive imagination gets to work constructing an absurd and melodramatic explanation for the death of Mrs Tilney, which threatens to jeopardise her newly forged friendships.

Performer can make or break an audiobook
Reviewed: 05-15-12
What didn’t you like about Becca Battoe’s performance?
Of course the book is fabulous! I think enough has been said about that. But the performance on this audiobook was so poor that I couldn't listen to it. After the first chapter, I had to put away my headphones and buy the book to read. Becca Battoe still has to mature as an actress before she should read another audiobook. The phrasing was off, the punctuation was distracting, and the male voices were like listening to nails on a chalkboard. I don't like to criticize, but I was so disappointed in this performance and so frustrated that I had wasted $20 that I had to say something!
