Story
This Lovecraft classic is a must-have for every fan of classic terror. When a geologist leads an expedition to the Antarctic plateau, his aim is to find rock and plant specimens from deep within the continent. The barren landscape offers no evidence of any life form - until they stumble upon the ruins of a lost civilization. Strange fossils of creatures unknown to man lead the team deeper, where they find carved stones dating back millions of years. But it is their discovery of the terrifying city of the Old Ones that leads them to an encounter with an untold menace.

Does the writer show he knows words - Yes
Does the writer explain in exhausting detail - Yes
Does the writer know about Geology - Yes
Does the writer know about biology - Yes
Does the writers talk in length in things that no one cares about - Yes
Did I enjoy this book - for the love of all that is holy - NO
People that will like this book are the same people that love Moby Dick. I for one hated the book and hated this book. I like stories with pace and are entertaining and this did none of those things .
And I hate people that love a book because it’s a classic. This book was rubbish.

Story
Roshar is a world of stone and storms. Uncanny tempests of incredible power sweep across the rocky terrain so frequently that they have shaped ecology and civilization alike. Animals hide in shells, trees pull in branches, and grass retracts into the soilless ground. Cities are built only where the topography offers shelter. It has been centuries since the fall of the 10 consecrated orders known as the Knights Radiant, but their Shardblades and Shardplate remain: mystical swords and suits of armor.

Great second book all around. Many have made the comparison to Peaky Blinders and rightfully so. But if you love the series you’ll love this book. Great characters, engaging story. 5 stars for me. Downloading book three now

Alek Fitz is the lead reaper for Valkyrie Collections, an agency that gathers debts for the paranormal elements of the world. Bound into modern-day slavery by a contract he cannot break and sold by parents he never knew, Alek works alongside demons, spirits, witches, and even Death himself to collect on deals made with humanity. I just love this series. I'm typically a pure epic fantasy guy. But I would listen to 30 books in this series without taking a break. I love the world, the characters, the narrator, the writing, the pace, the jokes, I loved it all.
I wish they were twice as long, but worth every credit/penny spent!
Keep them coming.

Story
Stretched to his limit, Tamas is relying heavily on his few remaining powder mages, including the embittered Taniel, a brilliant marksman who also happens to be his estranged son, and Adamat, a retired police inspector whose loyalty is being tested by blackmail. But when gods are involved....Now, as attacks batter them from within and without, the credulous are whispering about omens of death and destruction. Just old peasant legends about the gods waking to walk the earth. No modern educated man believes that sort of thing. But they should....

Fighting in Sweden for an ambitious warlord, Sigurd Haraldarson and his small but loyal band of oath-sworn warriors are winning fame and reputation. But Sigurd knows that to take on his hated enemy, the oath breaker King Gorm - the man who betrayed his father, a man Sigurd has vowed to kill - he must earn riches enough to build an army. Many believe Sigurd to be Óðin-favoured, but his exploits have drawn the eye of another god, too: Loki the Trickster.
