As always Piper Stone gives us the story that grabs you and doesn't let go, with the bonus of Thomas Locklear narrating, it's more than a book, it's an event. Just wait until you hear that sexy cowboy growling in your ear. You'll definitely need extra panties!

Wonderful mystery, thrilling romance, laced with a touch of Cherokee lore and the supernatural. The characters are so rich and Jack Calihan's talent only makes it richer. A story you won't soon forget.

Such a touching story of "the Cattleman" with a new respect for his fun sense of humor and his selfless way with the sub he wants to claim. And all presented so well by the talent of Jason Clarke.

Such a delight to have someone recognize that as aged widows we do not just curl up and die. We too have vital feelings and desires. I think I'd fit right in with the widows too! Glad that Nikki and Jason finally got a HEA, though I wasn't always in his corner. This book was a breath of fresh air.

This story started out SO very dark I had to push myself to finish but I'm sure glad I did! So many plot twists and sneaky buzzards but very steamy and a climax you won't see coming! As always, the delicious Jack Calihan bringing it, who can pass that up?!

This story begins SO dark it can be off-putting but for those who persist it's well worth the trip. The passion between Harper and Stone builds slowly and I was wondering if we'd ever get to the truth of what happened but following it to the exciting climax is a wild ride you won't soon forget.

Sexy billionaires and the mysterious Wishmaker

Since this is actually two books, I shall review them separately.

Wrecked
When billionaire Richard Boswell finds himself in search of a true submissive, his friend suggests that he consult a strange old woman known as the Wishmaker, who guarantees that she will find him his perfect match for an exorbitant fee. Little did he know that the young woman he would meet would be his undoing. Chrissy Evans has guardianship of her little sister, Bella, who has developed kidney failure and requires a transplant that Chrissy cannot afford even working 3 jobs and going to college. The billionaire's offer to pay her generously for her submission and companionship, as well as her virginity seems too good to be true and feelings develop between them both until a horrific situation arises and Chrissy flees the mansion. Fortunately there's a happily ever after.
The story is heart rending yet listening on audio was difficult. The narrator, Tim Carper, did passable with the younger female voices but unfortunately Richard came off sounding more like Thurston Howell III and I expected him to refer to Chrissy as Lovey at any moment. And if anyone can find such a dance as the Vietnamese waltz ( Viennese waltz maybe?) I'd love to see it. Otherwise it's a great story.

Taken
This story winds together unscrupulous business practices, a revenge kidnapping and, you guessed it, the Wishmaker. This mysterious and powerful old crone is a woman after my own heart and I can't wait to read more about her. I'm sure she must have magical powers.
When Kristoff Green is not only robbed of his intellectual property by Jack Brisbane but learns that the woman he was going to propose to was a spy working for Jack, he is steered to the Wishmaker who arranges for Jack's daughter, Rachel, to be kidnapped and held for ransom on a deserted island until his property is returned to him. During the 5 weeks they are alone on the island together, they become closer with Rachel thinking he's just her guard and they both fall in love. It's almost time to take her back but Kristoff is in turmoil as he realizes he must tell her the truth and take the chance he will never see her again and he will be arrested. Again a happily ever after but not without some twists and turns.
At this point we find Mr Carper not quite so Thurston Howell III and more Edward G. Robinson, a bit more tolerable, but at least 6 words mispronounced, so unfortunately it takes away something. This story had clever punches of humor and I was surprised to hear my own nickname, Granny Smith, in an unusual place. Narration aside I did enjoy both books and would happily listen again, perhaps with a different narrator.

So wonderful to have a story that celebrates a full figured woman with a sexy man, even if he is a dragon. So few romance books are written with a larger sized woman in mind.

Such a tormented story of love and hate, faith and disbelief, revenge and redemption. Many previous reviews cited the characters as having no value but this book spoke to my heart and as a widow it touched something deep inside me. Not everyone is always loveable or even tolerable but I found a vulnerability in each character and a wish for Maurice to find the peace that Sarah wanted to be bestowed upon him even if after the last page, as if by some miracle Sarah could touch his heart. This is a story I will never forget and highly recommend.
