Story
Finding Ultra is Rich Roll's incredible but true account of achieving one of the most awe-inspiring midlife physical transformations ever. One evening in 2006, before turning 40, Rich experienced a chilling glimpse of his future. Nearly 50 pounds overweight at the time and unable to climb the stairs without stopping, he plunged into a new way of eating that made processed foods off-limits and prioritized plant nutrition and daily training. Rich morphed - in mere months - from out-of-shape midlifer to endurance machine. Revised and updated edition with a new and original foreword and a bonus chapter.

I found Rich Roll's story inspirational. I am not an Ultraman or Ironman athlete--I'm a 60-year-old, overweight man, but Finding Ultra got me to rethink my diet and my exercise regime. I wouldn't call this a well-written book, but it is from the author's heart and it is compelling enough to listen to the end. #Self-Discovery #Inspiring #Tagsgiveaway #Sweepstakes

I'm not a Buddhist, but I listened to this anyway because I like the author (as I have seen him on the web and specifically YouTube. If you meditate or if you are like me, interested in it, you will find this book very informative and helpful. #Meditation #Buddhism #Self-improvement #tagsgiving #sweepstakes

Well done production of a depressing subject
Reviewed: 08-02-17
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
Someone who ignores the cost of pornography on both the actors and the viewers.
Would you recommend The Butterfly Effect with Jon Ronson to your friends? Why or why not?
No. I find the subject matter depressing and am surprised the author--most of the time--treats the subject matter as if it were harmless.
What does Jon Ronson bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I listened to this because I enjoyed his reading of his book "Them."
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Mostly depression. The two-minute sample misled me in thinking this was going to be something else. Maybe something like Chris Hedges' chapter on porn in "Empire of Illusion." I was disappointed. I wouldn't have continued had it been a longer work.
Any additional comments?
SPOILER ALERT. I just can't generate any pathos for pornographers losing money due to free porn. I CAN get angry at people who peddle the stuff.

WARNING: THIS IS NOT AN AUDIOBOOK!
Reviewed: 08-16-16
What did you love best about Anatomy of the Spirit?
It is a very good two-hour speech.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Anatomy of the Spirit?
It's all memorable, but it should be renamed andhave different cover art.
What does Caroline Myss bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
This is not an audiobook. It is a speech. I'm upset that the title and the cover art are identical to the book. Audible.com and the publisher are decieving customers. Caveat emptor!
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
This is NOT the book "Anatomy of the Spirit." I would have bought this speech, but I was looking for the audio format of the book. Not happy.
Any additional comments?
I gave this a poor rating because the product is deceiving.

Tough to buy, even as fantasy
Reviewed: 12-26-12
What would have made 1Q84 better?
You could cut the sappy stuff and the obvious product placements and make this a compact sci-fi thriller.
What do you think your next listen will be?
Maybe John Steinbeck's "Grapes of Wrath"
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from 1Q84?
Too many to count. I just couldn't buy the "little people." I also struggled with how the characters dealt with the "second moon." Some of the writing was really hocky: the use of "It's Only a Paper Moon" lyrics in a grave situation just made me cringe. Finally, I accept product placement in novels, but I got tired of all the pimping

Story
When we start with the wrong question, no matter how good an answer we get, it won't give us the results we want. Rather than joining the throngs who are asking, When will this economic crisis be over? Jim Wallis says the right question to ask is "How will this crisis change us?" The worst thing we can do now, Wallis tells us, is to go back to normal. Normal is what got us into this situation.

Jim Wallis should leave the reading of his books to someone else. The material is inspiring, but the listener really has to struggle to get over the author's plodding presentation.
