A beautiful reading of this wonderful, timeless story filled with unforgettable characters. Richard Armitage’s narration was as much a treat as the book itself. He gives voice to all the different characters so beautifully and brings them all to vibrant life. I loved every minute.

I love Hugh Fraser’s reading of the Poirot books. This was a pretty good story, maybe not Christie’s most riveting.

I loved the Magpie Murders books and I think Horowitz is a really good writer. I listened to the first Hawthorne book and, even though Hawthorne the character is hard to like, I found the mystery compelling. This one, not so much. Hawthorne is still not very likeable, the setting was a little dull and it was hard to feel much for any of the other characters. The plot was convoluted and the mystery only vaguely interesting. However, the narrator is great, the writing is good, and that made it a good listen overall.

This is a wonderful and compelling story, beautifully written and read. Each character’s story draws you in and I loved the way they were interwoven and tied to the story of Cloud Cuckoo Land. One of the best books I’ve read. I also loved the readers, especially Marin Ireland.
