Story
It was one of the most searing images of the twentieth century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother’s coffin as the world watched in sorrow—and horror. As Princess Diana was laid to rest, billions wondered what Prince William and Prince Harry must be thinking and feeling—and how their lives would play out from that point on.

This is a review from an American. I loved to read about the Royals from the the time I was in grade school and would covet my mom’s People magazines whenever Princess Di or her boys were on the cover. When Harry fell in love with Meghan my interest in what the Royals were up to was reignited. This book is truly fascinating, heart-wrenching, and hope-filled all at once. I learned so many things about Harry and the Royals - a reality that was never mentioned in the press or was misrepresented in the press for one reason or another. He doesn’t seem to hold back in this memoir and by the end you really do feel like you “get him” and understand and empathize with his situation and the very difficult choices he’s been forced to confront in recent years. Harry’s vibe is that he’s the kind of guy you’d like to have in your circle of friends. Unassuming, funny, thoughtful, honest, and authentic. Meg is a lucky gal. I loved listening to him recount his life’s story. How he emoted brought the details to life. If you’d like a real peek into the modern monarchy that feels raw and legit, listen to this book and let Harry give you the firsthand perspective. Cheers to Harry on sharing his life with us - it’s his to share, after all.

An inspiring, worthwhile, confidence-boosting listen for any woman

I loved listening to Paulina’s story of her life and her reflections on what she’s learned about herself throughout the years. Her personal history is both enchanting and riveting. I especially appreciate the perspective she shares around self-acceptance in the fall season of her life. There is beauty in all the seasons - real beauty, and she encourages us all to be courageous and not settle for seeking to hold onto the prettiness of youth, but instead embrace the beauty that is reflected back to us through our acceptance and appreciation of ourselves across all seasons of life. I wish I could sit down to have a cup of coffee with Paulina and talk with her about all these things. She makes it so inviting to embrace what’s in front of us and love who we are and where we are in life. She’s like the girlfriend you want in your ear, cheering you on when self-doubt starts to creep in each time you cross another aging milestone. Aging is a gift and her story helps us unwrap it and embrace it with curiosity and even, dare I say, excitement.

Story
For decades, Kathleen Buhle chose to play the role of the good wife, beginning when, as a naïve young woman from a working-class family on the South Side of Chicago, she met the dashing son of a senator in Oregon. Within months, Kathleen found herself pregnant and engaged. Determined to build her family on a foundation of love, Kathleen was convinced her and Hunter’s commitment to each other could overcome any obstacle. But when Hunter’s drinking evolved into dependency, she was forced to learn how irrevocably a marriage can fall apart under the merciless power of addiction.

Really raw and really good

Ms. Buhle wrote a touching memoir filled with nostalgia, humility, honesty, perseverance, and hope. She walked us through the pretty spectacular arc of her life from childhood through present day and her journey was fascinating to follow. I enjoyed listening to her narrate her life’s story very much. And while the story she shares is full of dark details she shares them in the most respectful of ways. Sometimes the truth is sad and hard to fathom and her truth is this but so much more. This is a raw but thoughtful memoir that she and her children can be proud of. She is inspiring.
