Story
We see it everywhere: at the park, in restaurants, and inside our homes and cars - kids connected to handheld devices and disconnected from the world around them. According to the latest research, the average 13-year-old spends eight hours per day, seven days a week, glued to a screen. Yes, this is problematic, but for every problem there is a solution. In Disconnected, renowned psychotherapist and longtime school counselor Tom Kersting explores the device-dependent world our children live in and how it is impacting their mental and emotional well-being.

A must read MORE THAN ONCE ‼️
Reviewed: 08-16-20
This book is so full of information that one listening would not do it justice. It is so thought-provoking, it scares me as a grandparent to think about my grandchildren and where their future is headed. To read this book during the pandemic and unrest around The United States made a lot of sense. There are a lot of a-ha moments and I question what has happened to the generation that is rioting and protesting how much of this connection has caused how they think. I will be sure my three sons read this book, and hope their children are disconnected from their devices there’s valuable information in this book for raising children today.

A case of "soul recognition". A true story! In August 2018, the author posted to her Facebook: "A friend of mine died 1983-ish. He was born again in 1991. I met him again in 2016!" Every question that just ran through your mind I answered in this audiobook! A daring and brave adventure as she basically documents her journey with this case of S.R. as it is revealed and then unfolds over a five-month period.

Story
From his rapid-fire stand-up comedy riffs to his breakout role in Mork & Mindy and his Academy Award-winning performance in Good Will Hunting, Robin Williams was a singularly innovative and beloved entertainer. He often came across as a man possessed, holding forth on culture and politics while mixing in personal revelations - all with mercurial, tongue-twisting intensity as he inhabited and shed one character after another with lightning speed. But as Dave Itzkoff shows in this revelatory biography, Williams’ comic brilliance masked a deep well of conflicting emotions and self-doubt.

This book seem to have all the pieces well put together. Robin Williams was an amazing man who was not boastful but seem to be loving and caring to all mankind. I had to listen to it all the way straight through I could not stop it was a wonderful book to garden by and just be on the bay enjoying the peacefulness of my home

Story
Boyd Varty had an unconventional upbringing. He grew up on Londolozi Game Reserve in South Africa, a place where man and nature strive for balance, where perils exist alongside wonders. Founded more than 80 years ago as a hunting ground, Londolozi was transformed into a nature reserve beginning in 1973 by Varty’s father and uncle, visionaries of the restoration movement. But it wasn’t just a sanctuary for the animals; it was also a place for ravaged land to flourish again and for the human spirit to be restored.

Having been in most of the countries, it was close to my heart to listen to this book. Boyd not only wrote and read, he knocked it out of ballpark for people who are not from South Africa but have traveled CC Africa. I truly didn't want the book to end, as I never wanted my holidays end when in SA. Treat yourself and listen to this book! You won't regret it!!

Aided only by a fox they call “the tod,” the two dogs must struggle to survive in their new environment. When the starving dogs attack some sheep, they are labeled ferocious man-eating monsters, setting off a great dog hunt that is later intensified by the fear that the dogs could be carriers of the bubonic plague.
