People are expressing their feelings in a healthy manner, reduced to tears in solidarity and commiting no atrocities. The entire conflict would be solved by just talking in the first three chapters. There's some good lore building and combat, but beyond that, this wasn't for me.

This is one of the most hypermasculine series I've ever read and somehow has the most accurate description of a naive couples first serious relationship. It's impressive as hell.

A spoiled, entitled trust fund baby with zero concept of a healthy human relationship decides to go to Venus.
And yet, somehow, he's more capable and competent than either Musk or Bezos.
Stefan Rudnicki continues to provide a great performance.

If you're looking for true Lovecraft or Doyle, you'd have better luck looking for true Jane Austin from Pride & Prejudice & Zombies. The author is clear with his inspiration and motivation in the Forward, even if it's in-character.
"Liberals" being mentioned more than once, including by a copper complaining about liberals taking issue with poilce violence, was a bit odd though.
Otherwise it's significantly better than most other crossover attempts out there. The quality narration by Mr. Kleinman helps immensely.

I'm really glad I finished the trilogy. Overdrive ties up and gives closure to a lot of stories and characters from the previous books.
The Sprawl Trilogy is basically the Lord of The Rings of the Cyberpunk genre. The same way you can see how Tolkien's work continues to influence the Fantasy genre, you can absolutely see how Gibson influenced, and continues to influence, the Cyberpunk genre.

A surreal experience where everyone is a garbage person to some degree. Whether they're drunks, addicts, killers, cops or boppers. Hi-tech lowlifes indeed.

Credit where due, Adam Baldwin is a talented performer. But this is still 2+ hours of complaining about Biden, Obama, Gender Studies, participation awards and "Kids these days." It also devolves into self-insert fiction at one point talking about how, in one reality, the author could've been a successful arm manufacturer. I'm not kidding.
