Story
Over twenty years ago, the heiress Patricia Lockwood was abducted during a robbery of her family's estate, then locked inside an isolated cabin for months. Patricia escaped, but so did her captors - and the items stolen from her family were never recovered. Until now. On the Upper West Side, a recluse is found murdered in his penthouse apartment, alongside two objects of note: a stolen Vermeer painting and a leather suitcase bearing the initials WHL3. For the first time in years, the authorities have a lead - with the suitcase and painting both pointing them toward one man.

Cannot believe that I now have to wait , only the she-goddess Nora, knows how long to find out what's next!?!?! So many of her books and series were written before I was a fan so I've been able to finish all at once. This wait on the next book is going to KILL me. I'm so wrapped up, not realizing how many pages remain bc I'm listening, and BAM!... the wait begins. I had this book preordered bc I knew it would be 🔥 ... She did not disappoint. creating characters you want to spend a lifetime invested in, and creating magical worlds that you day dream about is no easy task and Nora Roberts done it BIG in Awakening👍😍 love love love this book amd I'm so thrilled it's a series so I get to have more!!!!

I have not been impressed with the Audible Originals... that being said this book changed that completely!! This book was great!! I would be impressed if it wasn't free! In fact, soon add the book ended I went in search of more titles from this author... unfortunately, none were available for the US. Fix this!!! My favorite author is Harlan Coben and he doesn't write as much I'd I would like 🤭 so im constantly searching for new
authors to enjoy!!! I wasnt more!!!!

ONE rating??? I'VE DISCOVERED A TREASURE!!!!
Reviewed: 01-26-20
How has this book only managed 1 rating?!?! I sort of have the feeling I've uncovered a treasure!!! What a great read. this book has it all! betrayal, revenge, love; both genuine and faux!! i love a good school yard romance. especially when it ends up being the real deal. My story = My weakness!! i love plot twists but when you read as much as I do stories start to loose a little sparkle. This story pulled me right back into that moment!!! also does a little retrospective point of view which sometimes I struggle to relate to a brand new character, say from the next generation. I guess I get too invested in characters. no worries with this book though!!! all the way, up till the bitter end, the cunning twists and turns had me properly HOODWINKED!!!!!

I enjoyed this immensely! Narration was on point, but really?! what else would you expect from Retta? Story was so well written! By the end I had a little dance going for the instrumental when Tinaca and the interviewer took a break. This book is a nice pick me up for your mundane day!! I didnt know what to expect from the cover lol I usually read books with complex plot twists, I love a good mystery! I thought this might be a little corny but gave it a chance bc of the narrator.... so glad I did!!! Perfect example of Audible Originals doin' tha damn thang!!! (Tinacas got me goin' 🤣🤪)
