Good listen
Reviewed: 07-18-20
I thought the narrator was fine. I wish it was Ben because I love his voice, so off one star for no Ben. I did not mind any mispronunciations. I'm not always sure if I have been sounding some of the supplements and medical terms correctly myself. I have a degree in Horticulture, and I hear plant names phonetically mispronounced all the time. It's ok. I even hear Ben say "Bearberine" when phonetically I say "Burrberine" for Berberine. Look it up and see who is right :)
The content is thick for an audio book. I am going to listen all the way through, then buy the book. I think I will get through it faster in audio format when I can multi task and listen. Too much content to sit down and read. But I will be familiar with the content and able to utilize the book as a reference more efficiently with the audio background information.
If you like Ben's podcast, you will love this book and love having it as a reference. I also enjoyed the humor and stories of his adventures woven into the technical information.

Great book!

This is a wonderful audible book. The author is an exceptional narrator. I expected the book to be informative, but dry and technical. Well is does have it's technical moments, but overall if is very entertaining and broadly informative. Although I don't agree with all the political opinions he expressed near the end, I respect his opinions and appreciate hearing his point of view. I have a back ground as a technician in a genetics research lab (trees), and was able to follow most of the science, but not all of it... It is hard to keep up on the recent terms and technology now that I am out of that field. You can still understand the results without following all of the technical details if the science is too much. Dr. Sinclair does make a lot of effort to simplify the technical aspects. The information is life changing. I am buying a book for my 89 year old mom.

In this groundbreaking classic, investigative journalist Lynne McTaggart reveals a radical new paradigm - that the human mind and body are not separate from their environment but a packet of pulsating power constantly interacting with this vast energy sea, and that consciousness may be central in shaping our world. The Field is a highly listenable scientific detective story presenting a stunning picture of an interconnected universe and a new scientific theory that makes sense of supernatural phenomena.

What is the meaning of life? It's a question every thoughtful person has pondered at one time or another. Indeed, it may be the biggest question of all-at once profound and universal, but also deeply personal. We want to understand the world in which we live, but we also want to understand how to make our own lives as meaningful as possible; to know not only why we're living, but that we're doing it with intention, purpose, and ethical commitment.

Story
Roshar is a world of stone and storms. Uncanny tempests of incredible power sweep across the rocky terrain so frequently that they have shaped ecology and civilization alike. Animals hide in shells, trees pull in branches, and grass retracts into the soilless ground. Cities are built only where the topography offers shelter. It has been centuries since the fall of the 10 consecrated orders known as the Knights Radiant, but their Shardblades and Shardplate remain: mystical swords and suits of armor.

Reviewed: 07-10-18
I am baffled. This is not my type of book. I read Michael Pollan, Barbara Kingsolver and Ted Kerasote. Sort of documentary narratives about the environment and nature. I love this serier! Totally brought me to a new world. At first, as they described the battles, I thought why did I buy this book? Now I am addicted and am enjoying all three books in the series. Wow.

I found this book inspiring (I'm 53) and was fascinated with getting to know Jane Fonda. She is very open and personal, and it is especially imitate hearing her story from her own voice. She gives a lot of detailed science and has done her homework well. It is a good book for anyone at "crossroads" in life. I am looking the 3rd act right in the eye, and with retirement coming soon, I found a lot of motivation to jump into my new life in a meaningful way. She gave a spiritual perspective close to mine, and I was very surprised to hear it from her. I use to "jump with Jane" in the 80's, and now I am listening to her to learn life philosophies. Fascinating.

Story
The four fires in this story are passion, religion, warfare, and fire itself. While there are many more fires that drive the human spirit, love being perhaps the brightest flame of all, it is these four that have moulded us most as Australian people. The four fires give us our sense of place and, for better or for worse, shape our national character.
