Story
When Darcy runs off on another secret assignment, I am left to figure out how to travel to Italy sans maid and chaperone to help my dear friend Belinda, as she awaits the birth of her baby alone. An opportunity presents itself in a most unexpected way - my cousin the queen is in need of a spy to attend a house party in the Italian lake country. The Prince of Wales and the dreadful Mrs. Simpson have been invited, and Her Majesty is anxious to thwart a possible secret wedding.

Much the same as the rest of the series
Reviewed: 08-09-17
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
Not really. I enjoyed the previous listens much more than this one. The new characters seemed forced to be too oddball and too eccentric. Not that humorous. The plot was much like another in the series. What really detracted was the performance. I felt that Katheryn Kellgren was yelling at me and I really wanted to slow the speed down so she would just lighten up some.
What could Rhys Bowen have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
More action for Georgie and fewer descriptions of insignificant characteristics of minor characters that were meant to be humorous.
How could the performance have been better?
Give it a rest.
Could you see On Her Majesty's Frightfully Secret Service being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
Maybe not this one but earlier books for the series that show Georgie as more of an innocent. Carey Mulligan or Kiera Knightly would play the role well.

Story
Iggy is a dog who doesn’t get out much, so it’s big news when elderly Mr. Parsons knocks on Bernie’s door to say that Iggy has vanished. In the search for Iggy, Chet and Bernie find Mrs. Parsons unconscious on her bedroom floor, in need of urgent medical care. But it’s only when they arrive at the hospital that things get really interesting. With a jewel thief making short work of hospital patients’ valuables, it seems that Iggy is not alone in disappearing right out from under somebody’s nose. Suspects are plentiful and witnesses are few.

Very Short

Any additional comments?
As with all Bernie and Chet stories the narration is great and Chet is entertaining. There just wasn't much story to be developed in an hour of listening. It was clearly marked as a short story so it's not like there was any deception about what was purchased. Buyers have to judge for themselves if they want to spend it on such a short listen.

What a great way to remember Mr. Nez who we lost just a few weeks ago. Audible does a fantastic job offering us books that are informative, entertaining and a great deal to top it off.
