Story
For decades, wrestling was shrouded in secrecy. It had larger-than-life personalities, bone-crunching physicality and jaw-dropping theatrics, but backstage, it was an industry devoid of outsiders. Then in 1999, after working together on a special for MTV, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson turned to 26-year-old television writer Brian Gewirtz and asked, “You ever consider writing for WWE?” That question, and its answer, would have a profound effect on both of their lives for years to come. There's Just One Problem is a story about perseverance, tenacity, and steel chairs.

Story
Tom Segura is known for his twisted takes and irreverent comedic voice. But after a few years of crazy tours and churning out podcasts weekly, all while parenting two young children, he desperately needs a second to himself. It’s not that he hates his friends and family — he’s not a monster — he’s just beat, which is why his son’s (ruthless) first full sentence, “I’d like to play alone, please,” has since become his mantra.

The narrator captured the voices captured by the author very well! One of those books where you're sad it ends.

Story
F. Scott Fitzgerald’s classic American novel of the Roaring Twenties is beloved by generations of readers and stands as his crowning work. This new audio edition, authorized by the Fitzgerald estate, is narrated by Oscar-nominated actor Jake Gyllenhaal (Brokeback Mountain). Gyllenhaal's performance is a faithful delivery in the voice of Nick Carraway, the Midwesterner turned New York bond salesman, who rents a small house next door to the mysterious millionaire Jay Gatsby....

Story
Traumatized by the bombing of Dresden at the time he had been imprisoned, Pilgrim drifts through all events and history, sometimes deeply implicated, sometimes a witness. He is surrounded by Vonnegut's usual large cast of continuing characters (notably here the hack science fiction writer Kilgore Trout and the alien Tralfamadorians, who oversee his life and remind him constantly that there is no causation, no order, no motive to existence).

Franco Delivers the Performance!
Reviewed: 04-05-19
James Franco's narration of Slaughterhouse-Five won't invoke chills, it's far from disappointing. The somber tone in Franco's voice perfectly exploits the words of Voughnnegut's short story; they are somber and dry. While I enjoy readers slipping into a character voice, the narrator is a small part of this world, as opposed to Harry Potter, where the narrator is the world. I'm the future I'd like to hear Franco invoke some of the voices he's learned during his acting career; that would have to be a less somber, more 'in the moment's type of book. This performance, as seemingly lackluster as it is, would perfectly suit Paul Nielian's book 'Apathy and Other Small Victories ' where the apathetic narrator is (by no coincidence) apathetic.
