Story
When an experiment to study quantum uncertainty goes spectacularly wrong, physics student Bill Rustad and his friends find that they have accidentally created an inter-dimensional portal. They connect to Outland - an alternate Earth with identical geology, but where humans never evolved. The group races to establish control of the portal before the government, the military, or evildoers can take it away. Then everything changes when the Yellowstone supervolcano erupts in an explosion large enough to destroy civilization and kill half the planet.

great idea really good story with some flat parts

ok so the Characters are college students. So they're supposed to be dumb about some things so I don't take anything away for that. But there are just sometimes where they say things or don't say things that I'm like man missed opportunity. Other than that overall, the book is really well played.

Story
The Iron Wolves are a company of legionnaires whose legendary exploits date back to the Savage Wars. When they are invited to be guests of honor at a ceremony on a small, backwater planet, they look forward to some precious time away from the constant conflicts of galaxy's edge. But when a neighboring country invades, disrupting the ceremony and killing innocents, the Wolves are forced to make an impossible decision. Aid a people pleading for their protection...or obey the cynical orders of their senate to stand down and see how the dust settles.

not what I am accustomed to by this storyteller

I've listened to maybe 10 or the books in this Universe and story line and this one. Maybe my least favorithe soldiers are rash. And unprofashionable.
And are nothing like the soldiers. I expect or have come to love in this series. They make bad choices. I don't have a whole lot of tactical acumen.

I have never listened to an audio book that was structured in this way this book reminded me of the radio broadcast of the 1950s And no I wasn't alive in the 1950s in fifties but all the same that was a really neat way of telling a story and I really like that
