Story
This time, Sheriff Joanna Brady may expect to see her maternity leave through to completion, but the world has other plans when a serial homicide case surfaces in her beloved Cochise County. Rather than staying home with her newborn and losing herself in the cold cases to be found in her father’s long-unread diaries, Joanna instead finds herself overseeing a complex investigation involving multiple jurisdictions.

Loved it!

This book had my attention from the first words. The characters were well developed and the narration was easy to listen to. I found myself stealing every minute I could to listen as I went through my day and staying up much later than I should have at night. I will be looking for more books by this author.

Story
Emma London never thought she had anything in common with her grandmother Genevieve London. The regal old woman came from wealthy and bluest-blood New England stock, but that didn't protect her from life's cruelest blows. Genevieve rose from the ashes of grief and built a fashion empire that was respected the world over, even when it meant neglecting her other son. When Emma's own mother died, her father abandoned her on his mother's doorstep. Genevieve took Emma in and reluctantly raised her - until Emma got pregnant her senior year of high school.

I LOVED this book.

The large cast of performers made this book special. But most of all I enjoyed the characters and the wonderful love they had for each other. The story was interesting, tender and gripping all at once. I seldom keep thinking about a book they way I have with this one. I would definitely recommend this book. I was sorry to see (or hear) it end.
