About this listen

From the New York Times best-selling author of Good Luck with That comes a new novel about a blue-blood grandmother and her black-sheep granddaughter who discover they are truly two sides of the same coin.

Emma London never thought she had anything in common with her grandmother Genevieve London. The regal old woman came from wealthy and bluest-blood New England stock, but that didn't protect her from life's cruelest blows: the disappearance of Genevieve's young son, followed by the premature death of her husband. But Genevieve rose from those ashes of grief and built a fashion empire that was respected the world over, even when it meant neglecting her other son.

When Emma's own mother died, her father abandoned her on his mother's doorstep. Genevieve took Emma in and reluctantly raised her - until Emma got pregnant her senior year of high school. Genevieve kicked her out with nothing but the clothes on her back...but Emma took with her the most important London possession: the strength not just to survive but to thrive. And indeed, Emma has built a wonderful life for herself and her teenage daughter, Riley.

So what is Emma to do when Genevieve does the one thing Emma never expected of her and, after not speaking to her for nearly two decades, calls and asks for help?

Another 5 star read by Kristan Higgins

Also, as always XE Sands did an amazing job narrating this book. I just finished this book and I'm already looking forward to the next KH book!

Kristan Higgins brings her writing to a new level

I found myself wanting to walk longer (with my ear buds) and drive longer on some routine errands just to listen to this book. In fact, even took to listening while preparing dinner, etc. Like all books by this author, the characters and storylines are relatable, and never seem "exaggerated." This novel was particularly good because there were several different storylines all woven together beautifully, with a 50 year old mystery at the heart of it. As usual, I enjoyed Xi Sands' narration, but found myself looking forward to the Genevieve "scenes" with Barbara Caruso's incredible narration. It was pitch perfect for the character.
Don't pass this one up.

A Well Written Roller Coaster of Emotion

Truly enjoyed this story. A true roller coaster of emotion from beginning to end. Characters that you can hate one minute and feel sorry for the next. I highly recommend this one.

READ THIS BOOK!!

I LOVED THIS BOOK! I was hooked from the first sentence. I have been on low for good story lines and so ready for a great book. I found it! I love Kristan Higgins. I love her sense of humor, wit and the way she looks at the world. She and I would totally be best friends lol! Back to the book... If you are a fan of hers or enjoy this genre please do yourself a favor and listen to this book. It's a "page turner", sweet, funny, heartfelt and worth the money. Xe Sands rocked the narration as always and Barbara Caruso was fabulous.

I could not put this book down, it has been a very long time since any audiobook made me cry. I wished it would go on forever and ever it was so good. The four narrators did a remarkable performance.

Another Great Author!

This was the first of Ms Higgins books for me. It’s one of those that I at once wanted to power my way through it while at the same time, didn’t want to reach the end. I can’t wait to dive into another one, maybe all of them! The narrators were perfect and just how I thought they should sound portraying women of different ages. The story is sad, funny and thought provoking!

A Must Read

I haven't listened to a book this good in a long time. This book made my top 10 list. The narrators were spot on, the plot was wonderful, and the story line from each person's life was wonderful. I didn't want this book to end. I highly recommend it!

Absolutely loved it!

Took a couple of chapters to get into the book but then really really enjoyed it! GiGi's voice is absolutely lovely and the rest of the cast is super nice, too. Found myself looking forward to my drive to work - and even grocery shopping - just because it would give me a chance to listen to my book. Captivating, emotional, funny, sad - fantastic story. Didn't want it to end.
