Books 1-3 of series is a great bang for buck (pun intended) of an enjoyable world of today turned slightly on its side. Par for the course with this author :).

The pace is good and keeps story moving. Even expository dialogue is part of the action. And the humor had me in stitches.

If you know author you will find cross references which are great if familiar with the villainous Gary and friends.

Narrator Arielle Delisle gives each character such wonderful personality making them distinctive and come alive. (Wish we could follow narrators like we do authors)

Book eight continues the adventures of our intrepid heroes. Peeling back more stinky onion layers of subterfuge and diabolical schemes with the same ironic humor and wry witicisms mixed with space battles, boarding actions, and the occasional cocktail.

Fun universe. Looking forward to the next!

I'm a reader of scifi military, space fleet, and similar. This appeared as a recommendation by Audible. I shrugged and figured why not give it a listen. (Worst case is I'd archive and forget about it)

Lo and behold there is a solid space opera story going on. There is good development of the factions. A stable basis for the tech. Characters who maintain their personality. And a page turning storyline.

That all gives greater impact to the relationships side of things - where turn pages more slowly .

The dual narrators work very well bringing all areas of the story to life.

I maybe picked this up on a whim. But I'm certainly intrigued to see what happens in the future titles of this series.

Thank you author, narrators, and publisher for a surprisingly excellent experience.

Werewolves vs hunters. No other paranormal types (at least thru book4).

Minimal digression into intimacy yet lots of interwoven relationship issues.

Overall good. Really feel the protagonist has a genuine reaction in learning werewolves are real and stumbling from one urgency into the next. Always kept in the dark but charging ahead with what she knows at the time and doing what she feels is right.

Light hearted stories and a well narrated pleasurable audiobook.

Sort of a whodunit. Many threads going in each book in the series keeping the stories lively and active. And common storyline emerging across books in the series. Creates an immersive world (town) as journey through in the eyes of our beloved protagonist.

Narrator does excellent with distinctive and consistent voices for each character and imbues wonderful personality too. Lends a touch of really being part of the dialogue and participation.

Glad to get the box set collection of the complete series.

Mech Wars: The Complete Series Audiobook By Scott Bartlett cover art

Huge mech/battle tech fan as well a military sci-fi in general.

Went for the complete series option (first 4 books) over individual. Glad I did else I think i may have faded out after book one. As it is, I lucked out and flowed through the series. And liked how it went around book three-ish.

Overall okay.
I feel like this is a bit water down mech/military action. More along the lines of junior adult level storytelling. That said, it held together pretty well.

Narrator voices are a bit, um, whiney(?) for the character roles portrayed. I just grit my teeth and plowed ahead.
