Story
The New York Times best-selling author of The Six Wives of Henry VIII and The War of the Roses, historian Alison Weir crafts fascinating portraits of England’s infamous House of Tudor line. Here Weir focuses on Elizabeth I, also known as the Virgin Queen, who ascended to the throne at age 25 and never married, yet ruled for 44 years and steered England into its Golden Age.

Loved it. The narrator did a really good job of portraying the voices. And the book plays out in such a way that you can see it so very well in your head. I highly recommend this book. Especially if you are a history nut like myself.

Story
One of the most significant books ever written by a head of state, the Meditations are a collection of philosophical thoughts by the Emperor Marcus Aurelius (121 - 180 ce). Covering issues such as duty, forgiveness, brotherhood, strength in adversity and the best way to approach life and death, the Meditations have inspired thinkers, poets and politicians since their first publication more than 500 years ago. Today, the book stands as one of the great guides and companions - a cornerstone of Western thought.

I couldn't help but feel close to Marcus listening to this book. Almost kindred to him as well. The thoughts of mortality and life really don't differ much with the passage of time. This book is timeless.

Story
The philosopher asks: "Faced with the mutually exclusive choice between moral principle and the survival of your family, which is the correct path?" Philosophers love to pose such questions, and in the day-to-day struggle, such thinkers rarely attain to a level of relevance rivaling that of the simple hunger pang. Their careful considerations dissipate under the leveled gun. We do not feel their disapproving gaze when The Others draw near. When the world sends doom, the survivors do not hesitate. The survivors do what is necessary.

what happened to these people??
Reviewed: 09-14-19
I don't know. maybe it was just good writing that I began to really like Clay(the bad guy) and his people, well most of them, and really not like Jake(who I will not call a good guy) and be really annoyed with the people with him aside from Gibbs who has been my guy since day one.
I just didn't get how Amanda and the rest of them went about things. I began to grow really annoyed with them to the point I couldn't enjoy the story. was this just to wrap up the story line???
Gibbs was the only character that gave me some sanity towards the end. I don't wanna say much more without giving up the plot. But I guess I didn't like how it all turned out on this one.......Damn.
I need answers Joshua!!!!

Story
The survivors have come to settle in the mountains of Wyoming, fighting day in and day out to establish a home for themselves in a near-empty world. Things are good at first; scavenging is a workable, short-term solution that seems to be providing all they need. But they know that it’s only a matter of time before the food runs out. They need to scramble to find a sustainable solution before the clock stops, and for a little handful of people up in the mountains, the odds don’t seem very favorable.

Story
There are some odd things about Nate’s new apartment. Of course, he has other things on his mind. He hates his job. He has no money in the bank. No girlfriend. No plans for the future. So while his new home isn’t perfect, it’s livable. The rent is low, the property managers are friendly, and the odd little mysteries don’t nag at him too much. At least, not until he meets Mandy, his neighbor across the hall, and notices something unusual about her apartment. And Xela’s apartment. And Tim’s. And Veek’s.

Then the plague of living death spread around the globe. Despite the best efforts of the superheroes, the police, and the military, the hungry corpses rose up and overwhelmed the country. The population was decimated, heroes fell, and the city of angels was left a desolate zombie wasteland like so many others.

my mind wondered a lot while trying to get thru this audio book. the concept is kinda cool. It's just that the way the story is told..... it just didn't seem to keep my attention. I had to try to stay interested a bit too much. I would pass if I had a second shot at it, but again. it wasn't exactly bad either. cool concept. I just think it could have been done better.
It ran more like a cheap tv show on Sci fi, rather than a major motion picture.

Hmmm..... I liked it?
It has a slow pace to it that never really let's up, but I'm guessing that's the point at the same time. I remember having this foreboding feeling from the start that I won't really get into (spoilers). Shrug, I liked it, but oddly enough. it was a bit boring. Course it had its moments.
