Story
Behind every woman scorned is probably a person who made her that way. For me, it was more than one. It was an entire pack. I was exiled for exposing a murderous traitor. I was rejected by my mate, our bond shattered forever. Even after being chosen by our goddess, my powers and title will never be enough for them to stand by me. Now plagued by frequent and debilitating visions of battle and death, my mates and I must fight to assemble an army with no one but our goddess at our back.

Romances are supposed to have happy endings...
Reviewed: 01-30-25
I thoroughly enjoyed the book until the end. That ending completely killed it for me. I understand that cliffhanger endings are done to encourage sales for the next book but it frustrates me in books that are already short, books 1, 2 and 3 should be one book!
And this cliffhanger...I hate it when romances kill off love interests and that's essentially what happens here! Yes, it's possible magic happens in the next book and they get back together despite how the ending infers but ugh. Now I have to pay $13 for a 4 hr book, even shorter because I listen at 1.55x speed...is the rest of the story worth that? If they don't get back together I'll end up very disappointed and irritated I wasted $13. Great book but the end leaves me frustrated and disappointed.

Too short and expensive

I'm enjoying the story but I don't like how it's released. The end of this book isn't the end of the story, it just stops and then to continue the story you have to pay full price for the next segment. This story just isn't worth 3 credits ($45), bit of a bummer. I enjoy Penny Reid books but feel a bit ripped off with how this storyline was done, it should be 1 book, not 3.

Story
Lucy Hutton has always been certain that the nice girl can get the corner office. She's charming and accommodating and prides herself on being loved by everyone at Bexley & Gamin. Everyone except for coldly efficient, impeccably attired, physically intimidating Joshua Templeman. And the feeling is mutual. Trapped in a shared office together 40 (ok, 50 or 60) hours a week, they've become entrenched in an addictive, ridiculous never-ending game of one-upmanship.

Enjoyable

I like other Sally Thorne books and am pleased to say I enjoyed this one as well. A bit slow at first (or I was too distracted to really listen to the story) but picks up and made me lose all track of time. There is a weird sound in the narration that pops up regularly, almost like someone swallowing or that sound of water running through pipes in a wall after a toilet is flushed. I found that distracting and a bit annoying but enjoyed the story enough to ignore it. Aside from that I found the narrator's voice pleasant although there are a few places her voice didn't change enough to clearly mark which character was speaking.

Story
Nothing good ever comes from drinking a box of wine alone. So when I decided to entertain my drunken self by setting up some hand-me-down podcasting equipment and reading the steamy parts from romance novels, I never thought anyone would actually listen. The fact that I admitted my huge crush on my sexy next door neighbor made the whole thing even more mortifying. But sometimes life surprises you, and that’s how my podcast, Heidi’s Discount Erotica, was born. Now I, Heidi Larsen, a sweet former kindergarten teacher in Waconia, Minnesota, lead a scandalous double life.

I laughed so much, I wish it hadn't ended. So good!! I was rather sheltered growing up as well and this book is so true in that regard. Having that background may make the many moments of utter mortification even more hilarious, I physically cringed in sympathetic horror followed with uncontrolled laughter. I loved this book.

They are coming. The countdown has begun. First visible only as blips on a telescope image, the discovery of objects approaching from Jupiter's orbit immediately sets humanity on edge. NASA doesn't even bother to deny the alien ships' existence. The popular Astral space app (broadcasting from the far side of the moon and accessible by anyone with Internet) has already shown the populace what is coming.

Story
When an experiment to study quantum uncertainty goes spectacularly wrong, physics student Bill Rustad and his friends find that they have accidentally created an inter-dimensional portal. They connect to Outland - an alternate Earth with identical geology, but where humans never evolved. The group races to establish control of the portal before the government, the military, or evildoers can take it away. Then everything changes when the Yellowstone supervolcano erupts in an explosion large enough to destroy civilization and kill half the planet.
