Story
If someone were to ask you what was the theme of Jesus' preaching, what would be your answer? Man's need for salvation? God's love for mankind? The new birth? To be sure, Jesus spoke about all of those things. And they're all essential truths. But none of them were the theme of his teaching. The theme of Jesus' message was the kingdom of God. Wherever he went, Jesus preached about the kingdom. The irony is that the message of the kingdom is almost totally missing from the gospel that's preached today.

Transformative pointing exclusive to truth
Reviewed: 01-11-25
This book and several others have continued to point me towards the red letters of Jesus Christ, and what that causes us to lead a king based life, following, of course the king, the prophet, and the priest of Jesus, our Lord and Holy Spirit we have unfortunately extracted two of these three from most of our modern day theology And lifestyle. If you are looking for a challenge to point you towards truth, this is a great place to start and finish always at the red letters of Jesus!

Story
Neil Cole's best-selling book Organic Church described the fastest growing segment of contemporary Christianity - the so-called organic church. Now in this next-step book, he answers questions about how to deal with theological and organizational issues that come up. He talks about issues such has what to do with finances, children, heresy, leader training, and rituals and ordinances. Without the top-down structure of a denomination, even people who are proponents of this small, house-church model worry that they are not doing it right.

Families and communities are increasingly fragmented, loneliness is skyrocketing, and physical and mental health are on the decline. Our unprecedented wealth doesn't seem to be doing us much good. Yet, when we try to help poor people at home or abroad, our implicit assumption is that the goal is to help them to become like us.

Story
In Gay Girl, Good God, author Jackie Hill Perry shares her own story, offering practical tools that helped her in the process of finding wholeness. Jackie grew up fatherless and experienced gender confusion. She embraced masculinity and homosexuality with every fiber of her being. She knew that Christians had a lot to say about all of the above. But was she supposed to change herself? How was she supposed to stop loving women, when homosexuality felt more natural to her than heterosexuality ever could?

Who is the next president?
Reviewed: 12-10-19
So it has become a desire of mine to learn about the top prospective democrats that could potentially win. This story of Michael Bloomberg is astonishing story of hard work, competency and sheer determination. It is inspiring even though I conflict on many levels with Bloomberg’s ideologies. He is unabashedly powerful, forceful and simultaneously extremely concerned about the wellness of others. Generosity is pronounced from day one and his extreme wealth and influence has allowed him to explode to what I would argue could give the strongest position to remove the current president, though it appears his run is unlikely. I appreciate the intensity and willingness to fail and learn. Great book!
