Best in series so far

There are so many high notes in this book I'm glad I kept with the series. You're starting to see his little sister growing up and becoming more of her own person. Claygon has more humanity than several humans in the series. And this part's a little bit of a spoiler but Balen isn't there to bail him out.

really good story but narration takes me out of it at points.

I like the voice actor and they do a good job but reading out that a skill leveled, then that same skill leveled, then that same skill leveled, then that same skill leveled, then that same skill leveled, then a new skill leveled, then that new skill jumped 8 levels... why don't they make every multi level just the first then the last gained levels or "skill x goes from y to z ". with a book you can glide over it but there's a point that feels like 3 minutes just of leveling. The author could have made things easier by having leveling at the end of a chapter so it can be more easily skipped once it starts droning.

Story
Nico has faced threats from men, threats from dragons, and horrors beyond the physical world, but he's tired of reacting. Nico may like lying around on piles of gold, but that doesn't mean he's going to wait around any longer. He's going to take the initiative and that includes freeing the enslaved dragons and establishing Scale Nation, a place for all dragons.

story keeps up

I remember hearing the first chapter of this book and a book anthology and really really being disappointed that there wasn't more written about this world. Several years later I'm now done with book four and waiting for five. The author learns from their mistakes and annoying tedious bits from the first book You don't see by this point. The only thing I would change is to have the author put any reading of their skill sheets at the end of a chapter so I could just simply skip to the next chapter. Power levels are beginning to creep but I have faith that their will be a balance.

Seemed a little rushed, more memes and references.
Reviewed: 07-29-22
It felt like there were just a lot of references thrown in there that the book didn't need, I love this series however if someone were to cut out all the references and memes out of this book I think it might be more than an hour shorter. Overall a good continuation of the story and I want to continue listening but maybe both authors need a two week vacation.

now that's how you end a series, it stays true to the first books feel of neither side being truly the right one but having their own truths. in the end I'm left wondering a few questions but not chomping at the bit for book 4, if there would ever be one. one of my new favorite authors.
