About this listen

Rocket legs and fists full of diplomacy. A world prepared for thunderous progress. Cal returns.

The skies above Olympus rumble as a long pilgrimage reaches its apex. With Cal having reached his lighthouse and found his way home, the ancient dungeon wakes to a world made from the remnants of the old. Caltopia! A glorious planet, complete with an uncharted sea.

A grandfather welcomes Cal home at the end of a great fight and the dawn of a new era. The time for Oaths has come. The memory cores are undone. Odin waits with demons abound, as Artorian delves up ancient heroes from the Divine Dungeon era to help him do the rounds.

To be honest... I can't finish it

Look I actually LOVED Acrylogia. And from what I managed to listen to, I would have loved this book too.

The new narrator is literally incomprehensible. I cannot understand him. I find myself having to rewind to listen to the same section 10-15 times not because it's a lot of info or very high level mechanics/thinking, but purely because I could not understand what he said. Even without some of the thick (and frankly bad) accents being used. It is impossible to listen any further and I couldn't make it 2 hours in.

I'm actually really sad because this is one of my favorite series right now and I do not know when I'll have time or energy to read it traditionally. No doubt part of my disappointment is missing Baldree's voice but I could stomach that if I could at least understand the words being spoken. I'm probably returning this.

TRAVIS ONLY FOR ARTORIANS STORY

I take this personally, new guy can't even pronounce calcite! THATS A REAL WORD BRO, NOT THE NAME OF A PERSON! At least you are expected (to a certain degree) to eventually pronounce someone's name incorrectly or differently because you read it wrong. But pronouncing calcite as cal-seet is a MAJOR respect black hole where I have placed any and all respect for this narrator.

oof

I've loved the previous books, but really struggled here. felt like a lot of flopping around with no direction, and then it was just over. felt like the writer was bored, there was no extra world building, or building on the magic system in the world. no new powers. no new characters, with old ones shoehorned in needlessly. I feel like they are just wrapping up the story and aren't invested in making it a fun ride like it used to be. we're like 30 books deep in this world now, I suppose it can't go on forever, but it makes me sad.

Narrator doesn't know the characters

Don't know if the new narrator has read the previous books or not, but man it just seems the characters are off. Not a fan as of now, Can anyone tell me why Travis Baldree did not narrate this book? This series was in my top 3 favorites, but now I feel that I'm going to have to buy it on kindle so I can read it.

It grew on me.

The switch and narrators was throwing it me off at first I eventually was able to deal with it after hours of listening. I wish the narrator had taken the time to listen to the original narrator of the first few books.

the story was good but the new narrator was bad

the story was good its just a continuation from the rest with alot more "hits" of alot more books to come but the new narrator was not good at all and i found it hard to focus sometimes with the story and had to go back and relisten

narrator switch is brutal

you can tell the narrator knew nothing about what he was getting into. pronunciations were off and voices were tough to follow.

Miss the narrator

But the book holds up to the fun puns, references, philosophy, and tie ins to past stories.

We are creatures of habit.

This narrator is ok, but once one has done several books it’s hard to get those images and sounds out of your head. Consistency throughout the series helps.

A good book.
