Story Brooks's fiancé just called off their wedding two weeks before the happy day. As if that isn't bad enough, her semi-estranged father, an infamous NYPD hostage negotiator, has suffered a heart attack. Not wanting to examine her lack of emotion over the broken engagement, she hops on a plane to reconnect with her father before it's too late. Playboy hostage negotiator Daniel Chase has never been refused by a woman. So when a debate over hospital snack foods with a delectable kindergarten teacher ends in flat-out rejection, he makes it his mission to seduce her.

The characters first meet was cute
Reviewed: 01-14-24
Their back story, although not too developed was interesting, side characters weren't covered as much.
Unfortunately, to me, the conflict was too over the top, I did appreciate the communication and it being resolved almost drama free.

Story
A pasture of dead trees, a hostile takeover of the Santa barn by a family of raccoons, and shipments that have mysteriously gone missing—Lovelight Farms is not the magical winter wonderland of Stella Bloom’s dreams. In an effort to save the Christmas tree farm she’s loved since she was a kid, she enters a contest with instafamous influencer Evelyn St. James. With the added publicity and the $100,000 cash prize, she might just be able to save the farm from its financial woes. There’s just one problem.

Overall a sweet and quirky story with a male lead that can actually communicate and saved this book for me.
Not sure I'll continue with the series so yay for standalones.

I'm not a fan of self help books but this is the second title I pick up on audible. A lot of the advice shared here just makes so much sense and it's explained in a very relatable way, so much so that I've already tried to follow and shared some of it. Much appreciated.

Story
My name is Mackenzie Locke, and I'm a loveaholic. I haven't got a handle on men. Not even a little bit. So I staged an intervention and booked me and my two best friends into Love Rehab, complete with a love shaman, horse therapy and a bunch of stones that promise to change my life. I'm not leaving until I'm cured. Lesson one: the first night of your stay, don't have a one-night stand with the hottest guy you've ever seen in your life. Fail.

I didn't love the FMC and at times hated her though process overall. The story dragged at times but I liked what the author tried to do with the communication, slow build? And overall characters development.

Story
Millicent Watts-Cohen is on a mission. When she promised her elderly best friend that she’d reunite her with the woman she fell in love with nearly eighty years ago, she never imagined that would mean traveling from D.C. to Key West with three tablespoons of Mrs. Nash’s remains in her backpack. But Millie’s determined to give her friend a symbolic happily-ever-after, before it’s (really) too late—and hopefully reassure herself of love’s lasting power in the process.

A lovely story! I was so engrossed that I got upset when the conflict was finally unveiled and had to take a break.
After consideration I find no real flaws with the characters' behavior except that Hollis was too perfect.
Cute, fun and sexy, a great read!

Story
Zoe is used to taking care of herself and has long ago accepted that if anything bad was going to happen, it was going to happen to her. So when she loses her job over something most bosses would probably be happy with and her life starts going down hill from there she doesn't expect it to get any better. She certainly didn't expect any help from the loud jerk next door, but then again she has nothing to lose so puts her trust in him and hopes for the best.

Harriet and Wyn have been the perfect couple since they met in college—they go together like salt and pepper, honey and tea, lobster and rolls. Except, now—for reasons they’re still not discussing—they don’t. They broke up five months ago. And still haven’t told their best friends. Which is how they find themselves sharing a bedroom at the Maine cottage that has been their friend group’s yearly getaway for the last decade.

A lovely, sexy, well written and perfectly narrated tale of love, friendship and growth.
I enjoyed the glimpses into the moments that defined the characters and the tension between the MCs so much, and although I can't relate to Harriet's decisions in the end I'm so glad she good a happy ending all around.

This Psych 312 assignment just might send me off the deep end. Determining whether love at first sight really exists with Robbie Moravian as my project partner of all people? He’s the sappiest man alive, so upbeat I could scream, and clearly rooting for happy endings at every turn. How does he not learn from experience considering our own meet-cute last semester almost got us expelled? But we both need to pass this course to graduate. So we’re interviewing five random couples about their meet-cutes and relationships and spending all this time together. Which is certainly...educational.

I really enjoyed this story! It was sweet, engaging and uplifting.
It isn't perfect but even though the background settings aren't for me I was still able to stay inmersed in what was going on.
Minor spoiler ahead....
I was often a bit annoyed that Marigold was so clueless about Robbie's feelings but I enjoyed so much their declarations that I have to accept it all works.
I'm glad I chose this one 😊

Story
Ever have one of those days where life just plain sucks? Welcome to my last three months - ever since I caught my can’t-be-soon-enough-ex-husband cheating with his paralegal. I’m 35 years old, and I’ve lost my NYC apartment, my job, my money, and frankly, my dignity. But the final heartache in the suck sandwich of my life? My great-aunt Maggie died. The only family member who’s ever gotten me. Even after death, though, she’s helping me get back up again. Too bad that bravado only lasts as long as it takes to drive into Huckleberry Hills. And see the house.

Funny moments but didn't love the story
Reviewed: 04-06-23
I was able to finish this one but throughout most of the story, the events felt unreal, unnatural and just put together to tell a story that overall made sense but didn't flow naturally.
It's upsetting how one dimensional all characters are, how much the narration lacked in vocabulary, just repeated the same words over and over. The main character tried for lightness and funny moments but they, specially mid and around the end of the story weren't credible.

Story
Lily Weiss is her mother’s worst nightmare: thirty-two and single - the horror! She’s also a talented writer but hides behind a boring job at a science foundation. To her friends, she’s reliable and selfless, which is how she winds up a bridesmaid in five weddings in six weeks. Anything for her three best friends and two (younger) siblings, right? Even if her own love life is...well, she’d rather not talk about it. To keep her sanity, Lily needs a safe place to vent. And so her anonymous blog, Bridesmania, is born.
