Story
In his first book published as Pope, and in conjunction with the Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy, Pope Francis here invites all humanity to an intimate and personal dialogue on the subject closest to his heart—mercy—which has long been the cornerstone of his faith and is now the central teaching of his papacy. In this conversation with Vatican reporter Andrea Tornielli, Francis explains—through memories from his youth and moving anecdotes from his experiences as a pastor—why “mercy is the first attribute of God.”

Story
C. S. Lewis's dazzling allegory about Heaven and Hell - and the chasm fixed between them - is one of his most brilliantly imaginative tales, where we discover that the gates of Hell are locked from the inside. In a dream, the narrator boards a bus on a drizzly afternoon in Hell and embarks on an incredible voyage to Heaven. Anyone in Hell is invited on board, and anyone may remain in Heaven if he or she so chooses. But do we really want to live in Heaven?

Holy And Higher Consciousness

I truly enjoyed this roller coaster ride of the mind and soul. Indeed, I cannot say an easy read, however, after re-reading (listening) to certain sections two even three times, it became like truly opened to light after being in darkness for too long. Lewis is a master in challenging the heart, mind and spirit, often simultaneously, and in the end, when open to growing for the better in each and all, you somehow feel both humbled, learned and inspired to reach for more, as you reevaluate your current state of being. Thank you CS, thank-you lovingly.

Simply, and as Bishop Barron can only, intelligently written for any person, let alone Catholics, seeking to better understand love and in essence, God. A added treat to have the Bishop himself narrate the audio only strengthens the beauty and readability of this truly excellent book. A great read/listen for any human being seeking to grow in love of others, self and God.

Simply, a wonderful, intelligent explanation of Christianity. Should not be listened to in haste, but with calm and a mind open to listening and learning, even if only a tidbit. The reader is a tad dry and even slightly boring, but that is being nitpicky and doesn't detract from the thoroughness of this book. It's C.S Lewis after all!
