C. S. Lewis
About this listen
One of the most popular and beloved introductions to the concept of faith ever written, Mere Christianity has sold millions of copies worldwide.
This audiobook brings together C. S. Lewis' legendary radio broadcasts during the war years, in which he set out simply to "explain and defend the belief that has been common to nearly all Christians at all times."
Rejecting the boundaries that divide Christianity's many denominations, Mere Christianity provides an unequalled opportunity for believers and nonbelievers alike to absorb a powerful, rational case for the Christian faith.

Anyone in Hell is invited on board, and anyone may remain in Heaven if he or she so chooses. But do we really want to live in Heaven?

A lifelong pursuit of knowing God should embody the Christian's existence. According to eminent theologian J.I. Packer, however, Christians have become enchanted by modern skepticism and have joined the "gigantic conspiracy of misdirection" by failing to put first things first. Knowing God aims to redirect our attention to the simple, deep truth that to know God is to love His Word.

Story
Both astonishing and prophetic, The Abolition of Man remains one of C. S. Lewis's most controversial works. Lewis sets out to persuade his audience of the ongoing importance and relevance of universal objective values, such as courage and honor, and the foundational necessity of natural law. He also makes a cogent case that a retreat from these pillars of our educational system, even if in the name of "scientism", would be catastrophic. National Review lists it as number seven on their "100 Best Nonfiction Books of the 20th Century".

"The central miracle asserted by Christians is the Incarnation. They say that God became Man. Every other miracle prepares the way for this, or results from this." This is the key statement of Miracles, in which C. S. Lewis shows that a Christian must not only accept but rejoice in miracles as a testimony of the unique personal involvement of God in his creation.

Story
A Grief Observed is C. S. Lewis's deeply personal and poignant reflection on the intense grief he experienced following the death of his wife, Joy Davidman. Written as a series of journal entries, the book offers an intimate glimpse into Lewis's raw emotional journey, where he grapples with profound sorrow, anger, doubt, and ultimately faith. In this powerful meditation on loss, Lewis confronts his own beliefs about God, suffering, and the afterlife, questioning his faith and the nature of divine love in the midst of overwhelming pain.

Story
In one of his most enlightening works, C. S. Lewis shares his ruminations on both the form and the meaning of selected psalms. In the introduction he explains, "I write for the unlearned about things in which I am unlearned myself." Consequently, he takes on a tone of thoughtful collegiality as he writes on one of the Bible's most elusive books.

Fabulous. A must read!
Fabulous. A must read! This book is all "meat" and not a quick listen; the kind where you listen to a chapter or two a day and let it digest. I highly recommend it!

Enlightening!
I have considered myself a strong Christian my whole life. But CS Lewis opened my eyes to my blind spots. I learned much more about loving my enemies and pride. I am more guilty than I realized of pride. I truly recommend this book to anyone wanting to learn more about Christianity or to Christians who want to be better Christians.

I enjoy it more each time I listen.
C.S. Lewis does a thorough job of making Christianity understandable and accessible to "mere" humans. I am convinced and renewed each time I listen.
I enjoyed the reader as well.

Philosophical
This was a great book and taught me a lot about who I am in Christ. However, there were so many philosophical metaphors that I lost count. I plan on listening to it many more times. The performer was difficult to follow at times because of the English accent but did a great job nonetheless.

The core of Christianity
I really enjoyed this book. I'm a raised and born active christian and although this book is first and foremost for non-christians I really found his useful and have recommended it for many friends. he simplifies Christianity, helps you see the core and gives some very interesting ideas and solutions to problems that one might encounter throughout the christian journey. Great book!
