Story
Fourteen-year-old Carey and six-year-old Jenessa have been living in the woods with their mother for as long as they can remember; the sheltering trees and a broken-down camper are all they know. But what they’ve never been told is that Carey vanished from the real world ten years ago, when their mother took her, causing an uproar in the media - and in her father’s life.

Story
People say Beartown is finished. A tiny community nestled deep in the forest, it is slowly losing ground to the ever encroaching trees. But down by the lake stands an old ice rink, built generations ago by the working men who founded this town. And in that ice rink is the reason people in Beartown believe tomorrow will be better than today. Their junior ice hockey team is about to compete in the national semifinals, and they actually have a shot at winning.

The beginning to the middle of this book introduces characters back and forth switching switching switching and describing every step and action to the point it reminded me of a soap opera, I almost stopped listening but left it on while I was sweeping mopping and folding laundry ect. I’m so very glad I didn’t return the book. The book finally took an extremely shocking turn and just kept twisting and turning and turning again. I found myself switching from bored in the beginning to wtf then sad to angry to wtf. This isn’t a book you listen to again but it’s a book that keeps you listening once you get a ways into it.

I have loved the whole series! This one, would be good for those that like love at first sight, intense love in 2 days, and the rest of the book was poor me and why me until the last 30 minutes......it just wasn’t my style. It didn’t keep my attention and I kept stopping to get a break from the constant sappy ness and then the why doesn’t she/he love me like I do . I did finish the whole book because I felt it is important to the series to not skip books or I will be lost when the next comes out.

That ending!?!? What!!!!

I was engrossed in all 3 books, couldn’t turn them off. The final moments when you think everything is going to come together, it ends. This book leaves you begging for another book. How can it end that way. I don’t regret reading the books but it would be great to have known it ends abruptly with no real “ending” but more of another beginning.

The book was very short. Rushed. The narrorator was speed reading, way to fast to follow any of the story. Not worth $5.00
