Story
Of all the things that could have landed in her yard, it had to be him. For most people, finding a half-naked superbeing in their yard might be a dream come true. Unfortunately for Gracie Castro, it’s the exact opposite. Especially when he’s grouchy, rude, and shows no signs of leaving anytime soon. But when a hero of mankind needs you, you do what you have to. Even if it compromises everything you know. And totally changes your life.

Yes I always love her slow burns. This one however was a little too slow. I wanted to see them actually on the other side of acknowledging their relationship just a little bit longer.

I really enjoyed this story and I couldn't put it down. It still had an element of a love story throughout although it wasn't a straight romance. It was very interesting from start to finish.

Story
Shy, bookish, and admittedly awkward, Lily Greene has always felt inadequate compared to the rest of her accomplished family, who strive for Black excellence. She dreams of becoming a children’s books editor, but she’s been frustratingly stuck in the nonfiction division for years without a promotion in sight. Lily finds escapism in her correspondences with her favorite fantasy author, and what begins as two lonely people connecting over email turns into a tentative friendship and possibly something else Lily won’t let herself entertain—until he ghosts her without a word.

Just ok.

It came off a bit juvenile. Also the main characters issues became a bit overdone by the end. For some reason I was expecting more. it wasn't horrible but I'm not sure I would recommend.

When Sienna Walker is nearly fired from the NYPD, the last thing she expects is a second chance in the one place she vowed never to return to. But she can’t afford to turn down the job offer, even if a painful familial past and a broken engagement hardly make Reno, Nevada, home sweet home. It’s made even less sweet by Sienna’s first case—a serial killer with a curious fixation on her. Along with his victims, the killer leaves perplexing clues and chilling journal entries addressed to Sienna detailing the murders he claims his mother committed.

Not enough of the romance I expect from Mia

I would say that this book was just okay. there was some parts that were fairly slow. the storyline didn't hook me exactly. and I did not feel any of the romance I normally expect from her books. I was just a bit disappointed. normally Mia is an automatic pre-order and download. Now I'm nervous.

Good listen - despite some unrealistic parts
Reviewed: 01-20-23
This book had more religious undertones than I expected but overall it was a good read. I thought the religion just made some of the decisions a little unrealistic but it was still good story. the narration was sometimes a bit forced. the narrators over enunciated a lot but again, I thought it was a solid listen.

I just couldn't get into this storyline. It started off well but it really became quite annoying throughout the middle and a bit repetitive. Perhaps others will like it but I just didn't fall in love with them as a couple.

Her picture-perfect life—living in Boston, married to a brilliant cardiothoracic surgeon, raising their beautiful son, Asher—was upended when her husband revealed a darker side. Lily Campanello is familiar with do-overs, too. When she and her mom relocate to Adams, New Hampshire, for her final year of high school, they both hope it will be a fresh start.
