Story
An aristocratic birthright and the luxurious comforts of profound wealth did nothing to comfort Fontaine Pratina following the death of her beloved parents. After two years in the guardianship of her mother’s arrogant and selfish sister, Carileena Wetherton, Fontaine’s only moments of joy and peace were found in the company of the loyal servants of Pratina Manor. Only in the kitchens and servant’s quarters of her grand domicile did Fontaine find friendship, laughter and affection. The life of a wealthy orphan destined to inherit loomed before Fontaine—a dark cloud of shallow, ...

delightful historical romance

This was such a fun, fairy tale type romance story. The narrator's accent brought to mind historical Europe and set the tone. The story is brief but leaves a lasting memory on the reader.

Love Story--Online and In Real Life
Reviewed: 03-10-23
This sweet, rom-com is full of funny and tender moments. Hank (Not Hal) and Woodsprite run a poetry site online and fall in love through poems. Desi and Hank are both employees at the same school and fall in love in person. Yet, each holds back something from the other. How great would it be if the online romance was with the same people as the in person one? I loved how this story plays out. The author is the narrator of this audiobook and her inflections and accents really brought this story to life.

Story
Izzy Edgewood is a wannabe bookstore owner, quote queen, and Lord of the Rings nerd who has been waiting for Prince Charming to sweep her off her sneakered feet. But it’s hard to meet people when you spend more time with fictional humans than real ones. Which is why her pragmatist cousin Josephine decides to take Izzy’s future into her own meddling hands and create an online dating profile for the hopeful romantic. To Izzy’s shock (and suspicion), Josie’s plan works.

Story
Like many couples, Michael and Jolene Zarkades have to face the pressures of everyday life—children, careers, bills, chores—even as their twelve-year marriage is falling apart. Then a deployment sends Jolene deep into harm's way and leaves defense attorney Michael at home, unaccustomed to being a single parent to their two girls. As a mother, it agonizes Jolene to leave her family, but as a solider, she has always understood the true meaning of duty. In her letters home, she paints a rose-colored version of her life on the front lines, shielding her family from the truth.

Raw story about trauma and overcoming

This book was not what I expected. The raw real emotion brought tears to my eyes sometimes. I feel like I’m a better person for listening to this book. Jolene and her family learn so many lessons about themselves and life throughout the course of the novel. The narrator presents the story very well.

Story
With a name like Isabelle Valentine, one would think I was destined to find true love and believe in the ridiculous notion of soul mates. Don’t get me wrong: I’m all about love. I even own an inn with my sister where each room is named after our favorite romantic couples. But soul mates? It seems highly implausible there is that one person, your person, meant only for you. My sister, of course, would tell me I’m dead wrong and that the very inn we own calls to such lovers. So, what if she did find her own unlikely happily ever after here with one of the most famous men alive?

Story
I, Charlotte Valentine, am mostly of sound mind. Typically, I make really good choices. I went to college, never did drugs...I even brush and floss every day. That’s not to say I don’t make poor decisions - believe me, I do. They always seem to involve men - everything from gluing my eye shut to falling in love with my boss. Did I mention he was famous? Oh, Drake Foster, you beautiful creature. My sister told me not to accept the position as his personal assistant. Apparently, she thinks it’s emotionally unhealthy for me to work for the object of my desire. What does she know?

Story
He's the resident office flirt. I'm the quirky Pride and Prejudice-loving editor who uses big words and dresses like the world's non-sexiest librarian. We have nothing in common. And we're competitors for the same job. Game on, right? May the best person win and all that? Fine by me. And considering I'm practically the only woman in the office he's never flirted with, he's obviously happy to do the same. But when we're stuck overnight in our office building thanks to an earthquake-induced landslide (don't worry, we're totally fine), things between us start to change.

Things escalate quickly, and the network wants to reveal her fiancé on national TV, leaving Presley scrambling to find someone to play the role long enough for the special to air.

Story
Everyone always told me it wasn’t as though a woman was going to land on my doorstep and fall in love with me. Well, never say never. Now this woman literally crashes into my life, but she doesn’t remember a thing about what happened before she got here. She’s beautiful and a little sassy. The longer she’s here, the more I feel like she’s the missing piece of a puzzle I didn’t even know I was trying to solve.
