Story
After working with Jane Fonda on The Newsroom, I got a request from the LA Press Association to write a song for their tribute dinner honoring her career. That song became “Abs, Buns And Thighs.” As a five-time Golden Globe nominee, I reflect on what the Globes really mean and why I subsequently wore a flannel shirt instead of a tuxedo, which leads to the song co-written with Tom Paxton, “Remember the Memo.”

Totally enjoyed this. What a talented, wonderful, down to earth guy. I so wish I could have seen his performance as Atticus.

Story
Greg Marshall's early years were pretty bizarre. Rewind the VHS tapes and you'll see a lopsided teenager limping across a high school stage, or in a wheelchair after leg surgeries, pondering why he's crushing on half of the Utah Jazz. Add to this home video footage a mom clacking away at her newspaper column between chemos, a dad with ALS, and a cast of foulmouthed siblings. Fast forward the tape and you'll find Marshall happily settled into his life as a gay man only to discover he's been living in another closet his whole life.

An amazing story of an extraordinary family, son and early life journey that will make you laugh, cry and wish you could be a part of this honest to a fault, unconditionally loving, slightly crazy family.

Story
“You’re fired!” Donald Trump became famous bellowing those words in a make-believe boardroom. In November, tens of millions of Americans want to yell it right back at him. Yet Trump has seemed to almost defy the laws of political physics. Paul Begala, one of America’s greatest political talents, lays out the strategy that will defeat him and send him and his industrial-strength spray-on-tan machine back to Mar-a-Lago.

Story
Please note: This is a summary and not the original book. Count your blessings every single day. Trevor Noah never had an easy life growing up. Growing up as the son of an illegal birth, Trevor had to be hidden away every time and his existence should never be known. Born a Crime is Trevor Noah's brave and inspiring journey towards adulthood as he was finally liberated by the end of South Africa's tyrannical white rule.

Tricked into buying
Reviewed: 11-08-18
I thought this was Trevor’s book and accidentally bought it. If I had listened to this before I listened to his book, I would have totally missed out on a fabulous book. This was very dry and gives the impression Trevor’s book is scholarly, rather than a very inspiring, humorous memoir. I just listened to this today out of boredom and curiosity.
