Story
As a teen Maddy Harvey was a bit of an ugly duckling. Luckily she's blossomed since then, and Maddy thanks God for this small miracle when a tall, handsome stranger comes to her rescue one starry summer's night. But instant attraction turns to a disaster in the making when Maddy learns the identity of her superman: Kerr McKinnon. Of all the colorful residents of the small Cotswold town of Ashcombe, why did it have to be him? Because, as family feuds go, the Montagues and the Capulets have nothing on the Harveys and the McKinnons.

Narration ruined the book
Reviewed: 08-26-15
I enjoy all Jill Mansell books in both print and audio...until now.
The over effected 'British' accent that fell into the voice actors apparent natural American inflection and the constant over pronunciation of the letter 'a' made this painful to listen to.

Story
Waverly Bryson is a successful businesswoman in her late 20s who almost has it all: a dream job in sports PR, two best friends, and a bar where everybody knows her name. What she doesn’t have is a ring on her finger. And after being ditched at the altar, she’s in no hurry to get one. Besides, plenty of other issues keep her busy, including her wayward father, a new rival at work, and an ever-nagging fear that her life is not turning out as she thought it would...or should.

What disappointed you about Perfect on Paper?
Writing style was extremely simple and juvenile - the narrator was talented, but talent can't turn a sows ear into a silk purse
