Story
The year is 1853, and Princess Elisabeth “Sisi” of Bavaria has been very clear: She will wait for the head-over-heels love the poets speak of, or she will have no love at all. Just because her older sister, Helene, is eagerly heeding their mother’s advice and preparing to marry Emperor Franz of Austria does not mean Sisi must also subject herself to such a dutiful existence. Sisi knows there is more to life than luncheons and corsets—if only someone would let her experience it all firsthand.

I searched this one and read the wonderful and glorious reviews only to question if I read the same book. This had great potential but lost on everything.

Story
Hannah’s up to her ears with Easter orders rushing in at The Cookie Jar, plus a festive meal to prepare for a dinner party at her mother’s penthouse. But everything comes crashing to a halt when Hannah receives a panicked call from her sister Andrea - Mayor Richard Bascomb has been murdered...and Andrea is the prime suspect. Even with his reputation for being a bully, Mayor Bascomb - or “Ricky Ticky”, as Hannah’s mother likes to call him - had been unusually testy in the days leading up to his death, leaving Hannah to wonder if he knew he was in danger.

I got this one right away because the other ones were so good. I don’t know what happened with this one;?author was on deadline or what but the majority of this book—and I don’t mean a page or two-whole chapters are all recipes. The story was predictable and lackluster.

disappointed

I read the first one and while not spectacular, I liked it. so I bit at the sequel. while it starts out strong somewhere in the middle it falls apart with so many characters and alternate scenes thrown in I'd have to back up and check what was what. and the more it went to end, the worse it was. if you're really into Grisham no matter what he writes, by all means. it'll be awhile before I read him again.

Story
When The Cookie Jar becomes the setting of a star-studded TV special about movies filmed in Minnesota, Hannah hopes to shine the spotlight on her bakery - not the unsavory scandal swirling around her personal life. But that’s practically impossible with a disturbing visit from the shifty character she once believed was her one and only love, a group of bodyguards following her every move, and a murder victim in her bedroom.
