Great story. Ends well. Little too descriptive. Fast moving.. I should not have to try to do this with fifteen words.

You probably won’t like the first quarter of this book. The start is confusing and hard to follow. But have patience and wait. You will start to warm to the characters. The concept of how the world has become, is new and fresh. This is not like other dystopian apocalyptic books. It is a well written, good character development, and a novel concept for apocalyptic writing. Give it a try

Story
Neil Gaiman has long been inspired by ancient mythology in creating the fantastical realms of his fiction. Now he turns his attention back to the source, presenting a bravura rendition of the great northern tales. In Norse Mythology, Gaiman fashions primeval stories into a novelistic arc that begins with the genesis of the legendary nine worlds; delves into the exploits of the deities, dwarves, and giants; and culminates in Ragnarok, the twilight of the gods and the rebirth of a new time and people.

Wade past the opening chapter. Get into the meat of the stories. They are good stories. I found myself comparing the stories with modern religion. Very fascinating.

Story
Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

I had a hard time warming up to the character in the book. It didn’t seem to be going anywhere until 2/3 into the story. Then it got rolling. In the end it was pretty good. Made a lot more sense.

Parnell and his men assumed they would be facing a ragtag bunch of civilians, but in May 2006 what started out as a routine patrol through the lower mountains of the Hindu Kush became a brutal ambush.
