Story
The moment Meiling sees Gedeon she knows he’s a leopard shifter—just as she knows she can’t trust him. Meiling doesn’t take chances, life has taught her better than that. So why does she find herself rescuing this deadly, gorgeous man, when she knows she’d be better off leaving him to die? Gedeon is used to women throwing themselves at him, not throwing his injured body over their beautiful, deceptively strong shoulders and carrying him to safety. He might be embarrassed, if he wasn’t so aroused by the very thought of this feisty lotus blossom.

I am a huge fan of the leopard series, but the language on the other books was off putting for me. This was perfect, and it didn’t take away from two strong characters great narrator as well, thank you CF

Ambrose Young was beautiful. He was tall and muscular, with hair that touched his shoulders and eyes that burned right through you. The kind of beautiful that graced the covers of romance novels, and Fern Taylor would know. She'd been reading them since she was 13. But maybe because he was so beautiful he was never someone Fern thought she could have...until he wasn't beautiful anymore.

Story
Ethan Frost is everything a woman could want in a man. He's rich, gorgeous, powerful, and one of the most eligible bachelors in the world. But that's not why I'm with him. I love Ethan for all the things no one else gets to see: his innate kindness, his reckless spontaneity, his unwavering determination to use his brilliance for good. I love the way he looks at me, the way he touches me, the way he makes me forget the wreckage of my past and the twisted fear that still lives inside me.

The story line had potential, but moved way too fast, resulting in a female character who came across as unrealistic and silly... too much emotion for any human being to wade through in all of 2-3 weeks. Then who was villain, I thought she left the party with someone else 🤦🏽♀️... disappointed...

This was my first time reading this Authors work and first time with this genre. I really enjoyed this audio book... the author provided a different perspective on the human / other existence, and their respective positions on the food chain. There was no romanticizing their relationship either... this was worth the credit.
