About this listen

Ethan Frost is everything a woman could want in a man. He's rich, gorgeous, powerful, and one of the most eligible bachelors in the world. But that's not why I'm with him. I love Ethan for all the things no one else gets to see: his innate kindness, his reckless spontaneity, his unwavering determination to use his brilliance for good. I love the way he looks at me, the way he touches me, the way he makes me forget the wreckage of my past and the twisted fear that still lives inside me. But sometimes it terrifies me how much I crave him, how much I need him just to breathe. I always thought it would be my past that ruined us, but there's a darkness in Ethan I never dreamed existed. Can we survive as his secrets surface - threatening to unravel us both?

Contains mature themes.

Conflicted

I really did like listening to this book and the first one. I definitely don’t regret it and overall it was pretty enjoyable... With that said, I won’t be finishing the series.
The problem I have had with this whole story is how the trauma and outcome is portrayed so poorly and unrealistically. Annnnndd how freaking batsh*t Chloe is. I found myself getting downright mad at some of the things she said/did. The whiplash is real with this one. One minute everything is perfect and Ethan is so amazing and she thinks she can make it work.. then the next she can’t do it anymore and she’s spiraling into the depths of despair.. because he did exactly what she wanted! WHAT?! Ugh.
It was honestly hard to finish this book because it was so back and forth, so suddenly, that I couldn’t keep up half the time. I kept having to repeat chapters because I was confused what Ethan did wrong this time!

I didn't think my heart could handle anymore!

This continuation of the Ethan Frost series had my head spinning. Picking right up where Ruined left off, the heart punches started. And they just kept coming. Twists and turns. Betryal. Secrets. Lies. The Angst!
This one was a doozy to my heart. Every thing that Chloe went through, I felt too. My poor heart.
Tess Chambers narrated this perfectly. I think I was able to connect with Chloe and her feelings more because of her narration. I so look forward to listening to more of her works.
This book. Gosh, this series! It just had my head spinning and my heart in a vise grip.
I wanted to start Exposed right after I finished this but I don't think my heart can handle it right away. I will taking a short break to give my heart the reprieve needed but make no mistake, this book will be finishing this series soon.

I WAS ADDICTED TO EVERY EMOTIONAL WORD

Well, it's one shock after another with this listen as Ethan's involvement in Chloe's past comes back to haunt him and causes further hurt, mind blowing devastation and jaw dropping twists. There's so much pain over betrayal, anguish over forgiveness, joy over reuniting, hot sex over their raw feelings and then crashing despair over a final bitter truth.

Ethan and Chloe have an obsessive, overwhelming and all consuming love for each other (as well as a hot sexual relationship) but secrets that are kept back means that can these two ever learn to trust again. There's once again a roller coaster of pain, heartache, unity, tender touching words, followed by words of betrayal and shame but always there's words of love.... but sometimes the wound cuts too deep to heal.... and then words are not enough.

Worth a credit? Oh, this is so expertly written as the joy, pain and raw emotions are felt by the listener and, once again, this is told from Chloe's POV (except the Epilogue) and the narration was great. It is a happy ending, no cliffhanger, but the story will continue in Exposed (due May) when we get to hear how Ethan exacts his revenge. This drama filled listen was a very addictive, a just one more chapter listen and YES very worthy of a credit or buy.

Great Continuation

I was definitely not expecting these twists and turns that the author threw at us wow I was floored. It has me hooked as to what will happen. Frost's possessiveness comes out more in this book which I love. I knew he was an closet Alpha in the first book. Glad to see he is no longer hiding it.

Fantastic and also heartbreaking

I was crushed at the end of the first book but this one starts off right where the first book left off. The crazy twist was so hard to discover but Ethan and Chloe make it through and they are so great. The end was also so heartbreaking and shocking but I loved how they work things out together.

Ethan is great, Chloe not as much

Chloe kind of annoyed me... a lot in this book. She was all over the place. I couldn’t understand her logic a lot of times. Basically she blames Ethan for everything, and he takes it on himself because he’s such a great man and would do anything for her.

I enjoyed the story overall but every time they argued and Chloe, who wasn’t ruled by her past, would bring up her past again got tiresome. Granted, a lot of their problems centered around what happened then. But her issues with him trying to spend money on her, shouldn’t have to do with her past. It was a stretch at best and was only added to create more drama at the end.

Ugh it got annoying. She seemed like one of those “typical” girls who is never happy with anything he does for her, but has this wonderful guy completely by his balls and all of his friends are like “dude, why are you so devoted to a psycho?” That’s the vibe I got from her every time she got upset over stuff I thought was dumb.

Or when he would explain why he didn’t tell her something and then explain all the things he has been doing to try and make all the past wrongs right for her and she basically says, it’s not enough and she needs more from him and he better chase her when she leaves. I like runners in books, but I just wanted her to stay. Ethan was NOT the bad guy, he wasn’t completely up front with her because he was terrified of losing her, and it’s exactly what happened almost every time she got upset with him.

Still there were lots of happy times in this book and I still gave it a high rating because... Ethan. He was great and I loved him in this story. I just don’t know if I can read the next book. I’m ready for their story to be over and this is almost a HEA. There are definitely loose ends with his family but I’m kind of done with Chloe’s drama.

Good but not as good as the first book

Chloe’s inner dialogue became quite tedious. Thinking one thing, then doing the opposite. All she wanted was Ethan but she wouldn’t let herself have him. She wouldn’t ever be happy without him, but still nope. Over and over again. All he does is try to do what she asked, and she gets upset about it. Granted, he messed up BIG time, more than once. But…he tried to confess and she wouldn’t let him. Granted, he should have said it anyway, but fear… He was trying his damnedist to correct his mistakes. I love how easily they made up the second time. I think having dual POV would have made this better. It would have broken up Chloe’s extensive inner dialogue.

Narrator did a good job.
