Ethan Frost is everything a woman could want in a man. He's rich, gorgeous, powerful, and one of the most eligible bachelors in the world. But that's not why I'm with him. I love Ethan for all the things no one else gets to see: his innate kindness, his reckless spontaneity, his unwavering determination to use his brilliance for good. I love the way he looks at me, the way he touches me, the way he makes me forget the wreckage of my past and the twisted fear that still lives inside me. But sometimes it terrifies me how much I crave him, how much I need him just to breathe. I always thought it would be my past that ruined us, but there's a darkness in Ethan I never dreamed existed. Can we survive as his secrets surface - threatening to unravel us both?
Contains mature themes.

Chloe and back for another book. This book I liked and disliked. Chloe really needs to see someone about her past and her present. Her forget about it, bury the past, lock it away take really isn't healthy and continues to cause issues for her and Ethan. Ethan, you gotta love the idiot. He obviously needs a therapist of his own to deal with his issues also and to learn to communicate. There was lots of spice but it (honestly) got boring. 4/5 for spice but there really needs to be more to a book, a story than spice and arguments.
Get a therapist already

Ethan and Chloe have an obsessive, overwhelming and all consuming love for each other (as well as a hot sexual relationship) but secrets that are kept back means that can these two ever learn to trust again. There's once again a roller coaster of pain, heartache, unity, tender touching words, followed by words of betrayal and shame but always there's words of love.... but sometimes the wound cuts too deep to heal.... and then words are not enough.
Worth a credit? Oh, this is so expertly written as the joy, pain and raw emotions are felt by the listener and, once again, this is told from Chloe's POV (except the Epilogue) and the narration was great. It is a happy ending, no cliffhanger, but the story will continue in Exposed (due May) when we get to hear how Ethan exacts his revenge. This drama filled listen was a very addictive, a just one more chapter listen and YES very worthy of a credit or buy.

Not as good as book one

This one was a doozy to my heart. Every thing that Chloe went through, I felt too. My poor heart.
Tess Chambers narrated this perfectly. I think I was able to connect with Chloe and her feelings more because of her narration. I so look forward to listening to more of her works.
This book. Gosh, this series! It just had my head spinning and my heart in a vise grip.
I wanted to start Exposed right after I finished this but I don't think my heart can handle it right away. I will taking a short break to give my heart the reprieve needed but make no mistake, this book will be finishing this series soon.
I didn't think my heart could handle anymore!

The problem I have had with this whole story is how the trauma and outcome is portrayed so poorly and unrealistically. Annnnndd how freaking batsh*t Chloe is. I found myself getting downright mad at some of the things she said/did. The whiplash is real with this one. One minute everything is perfect and Ethan is so amazing and she thinks she can make it work.. then the next she can’t do it anymore and she’s spiraling into the depths of despair.. because he did exactly what she wanted! WHAT?! Ugh.
It was honestly hard to finish this book because it was so back and forth, so suddenly, that I couldn’t keep up half the time. I kept having to repeat chapters because I was confused what Ethan did wrong this time!
Conflicted

-The story was good, slightly different from most, enough that it kept me wanting to continue listening.
-Description of spaces, good, clear and not too long, but enough that one can picture the characters view.
-Steam scenes, hot, entertaining enough.
-Story development, good too, it kept you listening.
-BUT... The inner monolog of the girl... (roll-eyes) I had to speed the audio many times, because it was just too much. Repetitive, excessive, contradictory, frustrating, confusing, exhausting, dramatic, ("because is Eithan...", "but this is Eithan", "noo, this is Eithan"... Ugh my goosh) I just wanted to smack her on the head, 'Get on with the script already!!'.
My Opinion: (possible spoiler)
-The strong smart woman that the author portrayed at the beginning, got completely diminished by the Immature, self-absorbed, insecure, unfair, and frankly dumb girl she turned into.
-One word to describe her character 'Immature'. She condemned, attacked and disposed of poor Eithan for stuff he didn't do or knew about from the past, or things she didn't understand.
-She was ungrateful, disloyal to him, even abusive in a sense.
-The book is mostly him walking on eggshells, enduring her and her inner monologs, begging her, defending himself from others wrong doings, and running after her fragile, dysfunctional and traumatized behind.
This girl gives women a bad reputation.
"Because this is Eithan", "no this is Eithan", "this is Eithan"...
