Story
In this emotionally charged how-to guide, you'll laugh, you'll cry, and you'll discover eye-opening lessons about: The mask you're wearing. The one you hide behind when you say everything is "just fine" when it's not. Your unrealistic expectations. The goal-setting tactics you're deploying to get ahead could be what's holding you back. The difference between struggling and suffering. Being a mother is a struggle - it always has been - but your suffering is optional.

Made me almost feel worse about myself. Not sure why and don’t care enough about this book to explore that further but I’m not gonna finish it and I only have like 2-3 hr left. It’s almost like this pseudo self compassion philosophy

Story
When you listen to this audiobook, you will make many assumptions. You will assume you are listening to a story about a jealous ex-wife. You will assume she is obsessed with her replacement - a beautiful, younger woman who is about to marry the man they both love. You will assume you know the anatomy of this tangled love triangle. Assume nothing. Twisted and deliciously chilling, The Wife Between Us exposes the secret complexities of an enviable marriage - and the dangerous truths we ignore in the name of love.

Obvious twist, too many narratives
Reviewed: 03-07-18
First part of story dragged on. The main twist felt obvious to me so it was not fun. Then all the twists at the end seemed overdone and not all of the stories were tied up nicely, lots of loose ends and questions. Julia Whelan does a great narration which is why I probably listened to the entire thing. Perhaps it is better in print as the narrative changes a couple of times and it is kind of awkward in audiobook. Overall, not worth the hype if you ask me but a decent read if you have nothing else to do.
