This sister hits all the high notes of storytelling with elegance.
I laughed out loud so many times through out the book.
The story is incredible, the performance is terrific. The suspense is so intense I also fall off the chair twice.
You’ve made your mark in the novel world. I can’t wait for the next book. I am buying it in a heart beat.

Story
We expect our judges to be honest and wise. Their integrity and impartiality are the bedrock of the entire judicial system. We trust them to ensure fair trials, to protect the rights of all litigants, to punish those who do wrong, and to oversee the orderly and efficient flow of justice. But what happens when a judge bends the law or takes a bribe? It’s rare, but it happens. Lacy Stoltz is an investigator for the Florida Board on Judicial Conduct. She is a lawyer, not a cop, and it is her job to respond to complaints dealing with judicial misconduct.

A little disappointed

I listened to WITNESS TO A TRIAL A Short Story Prequel to THE WHISTLER before I purchased this title.
The novel is a far cry from prequel. The prequel is a legal thriller. I was expecting exciting court battle not slow moving investigations with very obvious plots and uncomplicated straight forward next moves. Makes me think John wrote the prequel and the novel was written by a rookie. It has all the elements that make novels average not great. Unnecessary page fillers, monotonous off-shoot side stories that crowd and drown the main story. The story develops too slowly and gets lost in the jungle of characters and side stories.

Not worth for your time

This is a selfish myopic viewpoint. More of a scam than an inspiration.
There are no concrete concepts discussed except “getting rich by creating instead of competing”. Even this concept is marred with demeaning, condescending and untrue idea.
Bible verses are haphazardly thrown around and largely out of context.
Don’t waste time and be disappointed.

Great plot and opening but alas! the story is over! Before you sink your mandibles deep into the action the book is over. I wanted to return it so bad. It wasn't worthy the value it cost.

Great story
Reviewed: 12-28-17
The plot is brilliantly sketched. But the ending earned the book the fifth star. The twisting and meandering of the main story are captivating. The leads to catch the killer are all very suspenseful. The fact that the lawyer admitted to her own downsides like the coc and unintentional gang bang relations gives the novel a real life feel. Throwing Casey behind the bars eventually and easing the noose from Tigan’s neck made a fantastic ending. 5 stars.
