Story
The stakes couldn’t be higher. Darcy, who once seemed to be our only hope for surviving the vampire apocalypse, has gone to the dark side—she’s now the reigning vampire queen. Meanwhile, her sister Hope must lead the charge to save humanity—on a path that’s taking her straight to Darcy. Will an emboldened Hope destroy her own sister to save the world? Would a godlike Darcy ever allow that to happen? They say hope is a dangerous thing, and they just might be right.

Been listening since Season 1, couldn't finish Season 2 until I saw Season 3 was out (didn't want it to be over). Feels like listening to every aspect of a film and loved that the story was inclusive and represented a variety of communities. Honestly excited for the next release from these creators and voice actors!

Story
From feminist fairies to blood-sucking temptresses, half-human harpies, and protective Vodou goddesses, these are women who go beyond long-haired, smiling stereotypes. Their stories are so powerful, so entrancing, that they have survived for millennia. Lovingly retold and updated, Kate Hodges places each heroine, rebel, and provocateur firmly at the center of their own narrative.

Story
If Jen Winston knows one thing for sure, it’s that she’s bisexual. Or wait - maybe she isn’t? Actually, she definitely is. Unless...she’s not? Jen’s provocative, laugh-out-loud debut takes us inside her journey of self-discovery. Greedy follows Jen’s attempts to make sense of herself as she explores the role of the male gaze, what it means to be “queer enough”, and how to overcome bi stereotypes when you’re the posterchild for all of them: greedy, slutty, and constantly confused.

As a bi NB myself, I super related to Jen's words and loved that they left space for people of color, trans folx, and those with disabilities. I had some issues with Audible randomly pausing (and sometimes starting at the beginning all over again) throughout but the book was worth pushing through those odd spots.

A global movement guided by love. Humans are a varied and divergent bunch with all manner of beliefs, morals, and bodies. The Body Is Not an Apology offers radical self-love as the balm to heal the wounds inflicted by these violent systems. World-renowned activist and poet Sonya Renee Taylor invites us to reconnect with the radical origins of our minds and bodies and celebrate our collective, enduring strength.

This book was fantastic, I loved that they didn't edit out Sonya's fumbles throughout the book where she maybe got a bit ahead of herself while reading. It was her authentic self and I admire that. I'm looking forward to purchasing a physical copy of this book for my mom and sister and sharing the message about radical self love!

Story
Academy Award nominee Samuel L. Jackson ( Pulp Fiction) rocks this mock bedtime story, capturing a hilarious range of emotions as the voice of a father struggling to get his child to sleep. Go the F**k to Sleep is a bedtime book for parents who live in the real world, where a few snoozing kitties and cutesy rhymes don’t always send a toddler sailing blissfully off to dreamland.

In a scrap heap within an abandoned factory, the greatest invention in history lies dormant and unused. In defense of those greatest of human qualities that have made civilization possible, one man sets out to show what would happen to the world if all the heroes of innovation and industry went on strike.

A coworker suggested I read this, I have no regrets! The story was wonderful and somewhat relatable. Ayn Rand's philosophy really shines throughout the book which I think gives me a greater respect for this particular work of literature. The performer reading the book did a nice job of adjusting his voice for various characters.

The book was quite short and simple to listen to and understand. Poorly edited though. I noticed a few spots where the narrator repeated a sentence or two. I must admit, however, that my understanding of Dungeons and Dragons is much better now.
