Story
Ever since he became a Christian at the age of 40, it has been Poirot actor David Suchet's dream to make an audio recording of the complete Bible. In between filming the final episodes of Poirot, David Suchet spent over 200 hours in the recording studio to create the very first full-length audio version of the NIV Bible spoken by a single British actor.

I love the studied narration Suchet gives. no sing-songy reading.
However, Suchet is British and Many of his pronunciations (of place and people names) sound wrong.

Story
In 1761, on a sunny day in September, a King and Queen met for the very first time. They were married within hours. Born a German Princess, Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz was beautiful, headstrong, and fiercely intelligent… not precisely the attributes the British Court had been seeking in a spouse for the young King George III. But her fire and independence were exactly what she, and her King, needed. Because George has secrets… secrets with the potential to shake the very foundations of the monarchy.

Very well written. Enhances the Netflix movie.
Reviewed: 01-16-24
I watched the Netflix version first, then, read the book. In the book version you are privy to what the characters are thinking, and historical insights, which add a lot to the story line. I highly recommend both. (not for adolescents, due to explicit nudity and vivid sex acts.)

Nauseating accent spoils the story.
Reviewed: 11-22-19
A little goes a long way. I found it hard to stay focused on the story line because the narrator's thick, southern accent interfered. Usually, I love Julie Garwood stories, so I was disappointed in not hearing this one.
I'm bedridden, so I can't hold a hard-copy book. Also, I live in Kentucky and am used to hearing gentle, southern accents, . . but this one grated on my nerves.

Story
Parodying the soothing incantations of Goodnight Moon by Margaret Wise Brown with illustrations by Clement Hurd, Goodnight Trump opens in the very classy golden bedroom of the White House, where it is bedtime for the 45th President of the United States. In this wickedly funny update to the bedtime classic, listeners can encourage this very stable genius to bid a gentle goodnight to some of his favorite things, including his stuffed animal (what else but a Playboy bunny), his best friends from Russia, his Twitter feed, and his 12-pack of Diet Coke.

Story
Dexter Morgan appears to be the perfect gentleman. He is handsome and polite, and has been in a relationship for nearly a year and a half. Yet appearances can be deceiving, for Dexter is a serial killer who has slain many people. But in this tale, he's the good guy, for there is one little twist: Dexter only snuffs out other murderers. When another serial killer, with an eerily similar style, starts grabbing headlines, Dexter has a fairly morbid thought. Am I being challenged?

Reviewed: 12-07-17
First of all, the performance was fine except for the highly audible swallowing noises whenever the narrator paused. Almost gagged hearing that a few times. The story was overall good. Feels like the author neglects key details that would really make the story feel impactful though. Does he perhaps lack the ability to feel, just like Dexter?

Starts Slow but Great Story!
Reviewed: 03-18-16
To be fair, most unique works of fantasy start slowly. but since I expected this to be a fantasy, and the setting was historical frontier America, it threw me off for a bit. Once it got going though, it was a great ride! Excellent performances all around, and I enjoyed how different actors were used at different points. Going on to the next one for sure!
