Loved this. It's a fun listen. Jessica retains her badass attitude but is also trying to get to a better place emotionally. I loved how the writer portrayed Jessica as a strong defender of right and justice.

This story is told from the perspective of the son. It was related with great nuance and care; It gave good insight into life on the border. Glad Petro was able to begin his lofe without the shadow of his fater hanging over him.

I loved how this story was told from each character's perspective, finally putting all the pieces together as each one's back story was revealed. The vulnerability of each character made me care about them. I was surprised at the twists and turns the tale took. I was expecting some macabre horror story. Instead, it was an all-too-possible-one.

The author conceived the story so well. It tells the story of a young black man's struggle to overcome his barriers to becoming a concert violinist, trying to win a prestigious musical competition. The main barrier was his family. His grandmother and one aunt were his only supporters. His grandmother gifts him a violin inherited from her grandfather, never knowing the monetary value of it. How that value is discovered and the resulting events make up the crux of the story.

Sweet story. Nice to hear a story about people who really care about each other and help each other through the thick and thin of life. Sharing their love and care in real ways. Loved it. 😍 The actors did a beautiful job . The writer is great😊

The narrator gave such a strong performance. A tale of one man’s hubris that brought about his own destruction. A man who refused to take any responsibility for his choices and destroyed all who loved him by doing so.

Wasn’t sure I would like it but Cindra’s and Lucky’s story drew me in. Loved how the author in part two alternated the story telling between the past and the present. I had to keep listening . Had to know how their story ended. Wonderful characters. Great story telling.

Well done! I was aware that some British people were pro Hitler. This story shows how the upper class Mitford family is faced with the reality of these beliefs and how they splinter them apart. Made me think about how the societal expectations of women in that era led two of them to be enamored with Hitler to reach the personal ambitions they harbored. There are some parallels to people’s perceptions and thinking about issues today.
