This Book needs an Epilogue
Reviewed: 09-04-18
This story is a warning to all and should provide many lessons on what we all need to pay attention too.
Based on recent history, say the last 12 months since it's publication, there really needs to be an Epilogue. It would move the book from 4 Stars to 5 Stars.

After disgracing themselves at a high society New Year's Eve party in Philadelphia in 1944, Madeline Hyde and her husband, Ellis, are cut off financially by his father, a former army colonel who is already ashamed of his son’s inability to serve in the war. Ellis and his best friend, Hank, decide that the only way to regain the colonel's favor is to succeed where the colonel very publicly failed - by hunting down the famous Loch Ness monster.

What did you like best about At the Water's Edge? What did you like least?
We really like Sara Gruen's work but this reader may not allow us to finish this book.
Readers are all personal taste but I just started the book in the car with my wife and we both could not continue listening. I tried playing at 1/2 speed but that did not work either, the reader seems to be trying to race to the finish. We will continue to try but thought I should post this now. If I finish I will redo this review.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
If you like life, dogs, or family; then look no further. This is it.
What did you like best about this story?
You think the book is all about a guy and his dog who climb a bunch of mountains, but NO. The first 3 chapters throw you a curve ball but they are just setting you up for the fast ball right down the middle......swing away.

What made the experience of listening to Kill Decision the most enjoyable?
I really like knowing what is going on with the newest technologies.
Any additional comments?
I will make this sweet and simple. I read or listen to several books at a time going back and forth as my mood fits. Kill Decision did not allow that, once started you had to keep going and when it was over I wished it could go on but the smile on my face was all I had left. If DAEMON and FREEDOM were to your liking, then get going with Kill Decision.

But their peace is disturbed when Stephen's fancy for a peculiar marine organism lands him overboard. Acting in his usual headstrong fashion, Jack dives into the rescue, unfortunately failing to plan what will happen once they are both in the water watching the sails of the Surprise disappear in the mist.

Listen to Reader before purchasing

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
I have never listened to a "Master and Commander" book before and after seeing the movie my expectations were very different than the actual book. I guess the movie makers just used the title "Far Side of the Earth". With that said I liked the story in general but had a very difficult time understanding the reader. So before you purchase this book you should listen to the clip, if you can understand the reader then this book is a good read.
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
This ending is like those of a weekly Television serial. There must be a next one.

Ken Follett's World Without End was a global phenomenon, a work of grand historical sweep beloved by millions of readers and acclaimed by critics. Fall of Giants is his magnificent new historical epic. The first novel in The Century Trilogy, it follows the fates of five interrelated families - American, German, Russian, English, and Welsh - as they move through the world-shaking dramas of the First World War, the Russian Revolution, and the struggle for women's suffrage.

A book that entertains and informs....wow
Reviewed: 12-29-10
I truly enjoyed this work and best of all, learned much about the world we now live in.
This is a wonderfully told history, which if one can only step back, seems to be repeating itself today.
This book educates, entertains and may be used by the reader to get a more complete understanding of the what, when, where and why of so many events that our history books seem to only offer in bullet points.
Womens suffrage, Russian Revolution, Americas war with Mexico and oh yes, World War 1. I now understand how a World War could start over something as simple as one small country offending another small country. A very good Book.
