Story
The Catenan Republic—the Hierarchy—may rule the world now, but they do not know everything. I tell them my name is Vis Telimus. I tell them I was orphaned after a tragic accident three years ago, and that good fortune alone has led to my acceptance into their most prestigious school. I tell them that once I graduate, I will gladly join the rest of civilized society in allowing my strength, my drive, and my focus—what they call Will—to be leeched away and added to the power of those above me, as millions already do. As all must eventually do.

Story
Amy Bloom began to notice changes in her husband, Brian: He retired early from a new job he loved; he withdrew from close friendships; he talked mostly about the past. Suddenly, it seemed there was a glass wall between them, and their long walks and talks stopped. Their world was altered forever when an MRI confirmed what they could no longer ignore: Brian had Alzheimer’s disease.

WOW: Intimacy and authenticity redefined!
Reviewed: 06-04-22
I am a 63 year old soon to be retired physician that takes care of mostly very elderly people, many of whom I know wish there was an easier way to exit their worn out bodies and less than functional brains. This book was nothing less than an absolute LABOR OF LOVE and I know it will serve its purpose that both Brian and Amy intend; to facilitate a much needed change in our fear based money driven “pseudo-ethical UNHEALTHY health-care system” regarding the overly ridiculous barriers that would otherwise allow a humane end to unnecessary prolonged suffering in many situations and circumstances so beautifully expressed in the writing and reading of this remarkably brave compassionate couple’s life experience. Only if the laws and “powers that be” could simply follow the ways of veterinary science and practice, how much more HUMANE would our lives and our inevitable deaths be. Thank you Amy and Brian for the wisdom and beauty of all the gracious gifts that you have given to us in this book.

An all encompassing encapsulation of a journey toward WHOLENESS
Reviewed: 01-02-21
Like knowing where you were when the space shuttle blew up or when the planes struck the world trade center: I’ll never forget where I was in a record store in Charleston SC when I first sampled, with headsets on, a song of Jewel’s. My world stood still and this experience was all engrossing and I knew I had found the deepest expression of our collective souls. This was 20 years ago or so by now. Admittedly, I have loved her deeply but silently since. I’m just finished listened to this amazingly authentic audiobook “Never Broken” for a second time in five years since it was first released in 2015. Deeply moving to the core of any honest seeker of that which is real for all of us that have struggled with a deep desire to BELONG and to simply BE unconditionally loved. From one silent soul-mate to another I thank you. A forever healing TWO on the enneagram scale striving to be my best and most authentic Self forever wanting the stability of that forever elusive equanimity. Having lived 60 years as a similar seeker and syncretist, I continue to uncover almost daily that which needs to die so that something new and real might emerge. Jewel, for me, you are the the best of that which this planet can be and I can’t help but repeatedly gravitate toward that which you remain in my heart of hearts. BTW, your poem LOST means more to me than this overly long review could ever express. So again I simply say THANK YOU FOR BEING YOU.🙏

"I’m James Taylor and I’m a professional autobiographer", says the celebrated folk singer at the start of this tender audio memoir. Through decades of music by one of the best-selling musicians of all time, who created classics like "Fire and Rain" and "Carolina in My Mind", James Taylor has doled out his history in the poetry of his work. Taylor says his early life is, "the source of many of my songs", and Break Shot is a tour of his first 21 years in rich, new detail.

A classic listen for all of us during these tough times
Reviewed: 04-02-20
I was born in 1959 and continue to listen to the voice of this beautiful man while doing skin cancer surgery here in the Carolinas as a physician. When I can’t quite think of an artist to play on Alexa for one of my many patient’s, the name James Taylor easily comes to mind. My family and I moved to the Carolinas in 1991 and it’s uncanny how the lyrics of a number of his songs have touched not only my life, but the lives of many around me. This brief audible biography could not have come at a more perfect time. While the American dream that grew out of the great depression lead to many excesses and multiple pathologies in most of us: James Taylor, by the grace of God, has to date, not only survived—but thrived. Many less fortunate have not. This is a beautifully presented lyrical audiobook that should be listened to by all whose families have been touched by addiction and suffered traumatic losses as we have all to one degree or another. This is a most timely and touching coming-of-age story. I thought I had a good grasp and understanding of the man behind the songs. However, until now, I was certainly wrong.
I love you James Taylor and thank you for unconditionally giving of yourself in the presentation of this beautiful short biography.

Story
Each day we face a barrage of images and messages from society and the media telling us who, what, and how we should be. We are led to believe that if we could only look perfect and lead perfect lives, we'd no longer feel inadequate. So most of us perform, please, and perfect, all the while thinking, What if I can't keep all of these balls in the air? Why isn't everyone else working harder and living up to my expectations? What will people think if I fail or give up? When can I stop proving myself?

A deep experience & expression of ardent LOVE.

What can I say but after listening to this most scholarly, vulnerable, and authentic work of one's heart and poetic expression of such vast experience, I am no less in love with the heart of this amazing woman. In my own way, I have attempted such an expression as I continue to allow the experiences of the connection with others to reshape me each and every day as such gifts are given. Thank you Krista for your many sacrifices that have born the richest fruit of this amazing work of art which I have been blessed to discover in this beautiful exposition, SPEAKING OF FAITH. May your spoken words and written words serve the uniting and peaceful purpose intended for many generations to come. I am also most grateful to our shared mentor, one of many, Rachel Naomi Reman. May she rest in peace and may we all be open to the source of such peace in the remaining moments that we are given while on this planet together.
