Story
When the enslaved Jim overhears that he is about to be sold to a man in New Orleans, separated from his wife and daughter forever, he decides to hide on nearby Jackson Island until he can formulate a plan. Meanwhile, Huck Finn has faked his own death to escape his violent father, recently returned to town. As all readers of American literature know, thus begins the dangerous and transcendent journey by raft down the Mississippi River toward the elusive and too-often-unreliable promise of the Free States and beyond.

The reminder

This work reminds us of the capability in all us to be cruel, to be noble, cowardly, brave and/or ignorant of the truth. Today, the timing of this story worries me. Tribal behavioral tendencies are on the rise, especially anti-white sentiments. There isn't a good time to hate anyone of any race, any belief system. We can't seem to learn.

An amazing journey.

I loved the story and the characters' constructed family of goodness. The quantum element was fascinating. If there is a weakness, it is that there a little too much time spent in the twisted mind of the psychopath.

Story
When you listen to this audiobook, you will make many assumptions. You will assume you are listening to a story about a jealous ex-wife. You will assume she is obsessed with her replacement - a beautiful, younger woman who is about to marry the man they both love. You will assume you know the anatomy of this tangled love triangle. Assume nothing. Twisted and deliciously chilling, The Wife Between Us exposes the secret complexities of an enviable marriage - and the dangerous truths we ignore in the name of love.

Very engaging story and with body snatchers and murders and a little cameo from Edgar Allan Poe and its Halloween. What more could you ask? It is an interesting commentary on mob mentality that one might try to apply to our day. it is an interesting snapshot into the possible character of the famous writer, Walt Whitman. I enjoyed it very much.

I really liked this story and it kept me very engaged although it slowed a bit in the middle. It makes you think about many issues such as good and evil, purpose for life and purpose in suffering. Definitely worth hearing!

Story
The debut psychological thriller that will forever change the way you look at other people's lives. Every day the same. Rachel takes the same commuter train every morning and night. Every day she rattles down the track, flashes past a stretch of cozy suburban homes, and stops at the signal that allows her to daily watch the same couple breakfasting on their deck. She’s even started to feel like she knows them. Jess and Jason, she calls them. Their life - as she sees it - is perfect. Not unlike the life she recently lost.

One thrilling Ride

At first the story was a little slow in grabbing my attention but when it took hold I couldn't let go. Its twists and turns and multiple points of view kept me guessing and intrigued all the way through. it is interesting that the author is a woman as I left feeling that women are a sorry lot. Even so, it was a fascinating character study and spellbinding story.
