Story
Great Britain, 1923: When Detective Inspector John Redfyre is invited to attend the annual St. Barnabas College Christmas concert in his Aunt Henrietta's stead, he is expecting a quiet evening. But he arrives to witness a minor scandal: Juno Proudfoot, the trumpeter of the headlining musical duo, is a woman, and a young one at that - practically unheard of in conservative academic circles. When she suffers a near-fatal fall after the close of the show, Redfyre must consider whether someone was trying to kill her.

Verbose and long winded. Narration not bad. Well researched and a fairly good story although ladies suffrage has been rather overdone and didn't quite carry the reason for the misogyny.

This is a fantastic story. Keeps you guessing right until the end. It would be better condensed into cozy format as it's very repetitive. Drake has neuroses which add nothing to the story line and his extended family are superfluous. Still a great yarn.

This is unworthy guys! At best it's a pot boiler. We immediately know whodunit. And ,for once, Neil`s Audible is horrible. Very disappointing.

Great little book. Good narration , with what is a very difficult accent.
It tends to waffle on a bit. The descriptive writing of the Shetland Isles is charming. Way too much information about the ferries. This made a fantastic TV series and it's one of the rare occasions when the film is better than the book.
Still a good listen and over all I enjoyed it . Worthwhile.

The narrator of this book is excellent. But the story rambles far too much with multiple, unnecessary red herrings and loads of repetition. This book is unworthy of an Agatha Christie novel. At best it's a poor effort. Don't waste your money ! It's ghastly
