An occasionally entertaining slog

I understand this is YA, but it was overly too simple. Also, it was just the same thing over and over and over again. This book could have been half the size. Also, it’s just a bunch of spoiled rich kids with zero personality. The ending was just straight up dumb. No resolution. The narrator made all the dudes sound like everything they said was a pickup line. Pro: I like the genre. The author is literate. Good atmosphere

It wasn’t scary, not much of a ghost story. Also, enough with the kids and animals, already!

Story
After her parents' divorce, five-year old Corinna Greer moves into Blakemort with her mother and brother. Set on the edge of the village of Whitesmith, the only thing attractive about it is the rent. A 'sensitive', Corinna is aware from the start that something is wrong with the house. Very wrong. Christmas is coming but at Blakemort that's not something to get excited about. A house that sits and broods, that calculates and considers, it's then that it lashes out - the attacks endured over five years becoming worse.

Fun story if you can ignore the narration

I really liked the story. I’ e listened to almost all of Struthers’s books. However, the narration for this was way over the top to the point where I found it embarrassing. A lot of weird whining, sighing, and feigned cynical laughter. No bueno.

Wonderful!

McCammon must’ve done a ton of research to write this wonderful book so effectively! As implausible as a werewolf hero may seems, it works. I loved the characters and I was able to envision the times and places as he creates them. The main story was enjoyable, but the character’s origin story was even better.
WWII intrigue isn’t usually my thing, but after reading and thoroughly enjoying Swan Song, I figured I’d give this one a shot. I’m glad I did. While there are some disturbing scenes, they are there for good reason. I was not depressed by the ending ;).

Story
Kevin Taylor is an Internet-famous handyman on a mission: Find a house and renovate it in 30 days. By flipping a derelict house in a month's time and chronicling the entire thing on video for his online subscribers, he seeks to become a star. The problems that plague this property will require more than elbow grease to fix, however. Shadows throughout the home are distorted, and an enigmatic trespasser keeps showing up in his footage. Worse still are the hideous voices that issue from otherwise empty rooms in the dead of night.

Story: creey, albeit a bit formulaic and predictable. Still, it wa entertaining and evoked excellent visuals.
Performance: The narrator was ok, but kept mispronouncing words. Made me crazy.
