Story
It will take an army to defeat a sorcerer. Even that might not be enough. As Talen and his brother raise defenses to defeat the sorcerer, those once closest to him struggle the most. While Talen thinks only of the strategy needed to overpower an impossible and deadly magic, Gwin and Jamie struggle with what it will take to defeat their father—and question if it’s even possible If they fail, he will unleash a power the world has not seen in generations, but stopping him means finding more than the power needed; they must find their heart. Heart of Magic completes The Golden Fool trilogy.

the ai narrator doesn't read certain things as a real person would, however, I didn't let that hurt the story. the story itself is very good and was very entertaining to listen to. it would be better with a real reader as they read inflection that the Ai doesn't pick up. I recommend this anyway as its worth the listening to and I could tell where the inflection should be . I liked the series as it had funny parts as well as a good amount of action, and just a touch of romance without the intimate scenes. would be great to listen to with your kids even as it was very youth appropriate. thank you

I enjoy listening to the readers, their accents and the way they read makes it sound like they're from the story itself. I got the whole series in one which was a wonderful deal and I don't have to waste time searching for the next book when one ends. I love listening to it while doing everyday chores, driving, or even when im grocery shopping sometimes. its easy to get into the story and there so much feeling throughout that I laughed, cried and rooted for them to win whatever war life threw at them. thank you to the author for the wonderful books and for the narration to make the story even better.

a nice adventure with some mystery and a tad romance but not anything too heavy. some of the things they found and briefly talked about might be considered over 18, but it also wasn't detailed as some books do these days. no sex scenes involved, however they do visit a place where adults visit which is what I'm referring to above. overall I didn't think it was obscene in anyway and wouldn't scar a teenager if they did happen to read the story. I found the story very enjoyable and look forward to reading the next adventure of the series. Also the reading voices are quite good and make it easy to listen to if that is your preference. Thank you

I liked the story
Reviewed: 09-08-23
Although I had a little bit of confusion at the beginning as some of the characters names were close to each other, I found that listening closely I could keep them from getting mixed up. I liked the story and didn't have any issues with the narration as others have. I do like when male and female narrators work together as it makes it easier to hear the difference in characters as they talk but I know that doesn't mean that the story is any better since if I was reading it would be up to me anyway. I look forward to the second book in the key series as I'm excited to see what happens with Elodie and Aiden, as well as the others that were started in this series. (Caution: if you read beyond this point it might be a spoiler if you haven't already read the story) Also, I'm curious about Elodies friend, since she made it clear a couple of times that people couldn't really die in VR. I also want to see what New Dawn is like, and if the story will be set there or flip back and forth. I also noticed that The key to Fury is the second half of this series although on audible it says book 1 on both, They might want to fix that eventually? Thank you.

I thought the storyline was interesting. The characters were well written and I liked them. The plot wasn't completely transparent, by that I mean I didn't know exactly how the story was going to go before reading it. I noticed one reviewer rather rudely complained about the narrator having a lisp. However, if it was there I didn't notice it and thought the narrator did a great job. I don't like to give spoilers, so I mainly just wanted to say how much i enjoyed listening to this book . I look forward to reading (or listening) to more books from this author. Thank you

I loved this series, I hope to read more of the story since it seems like it keeps going. I want to see how the Kincade family evolves, I'm not sure if that will be the start of its own series or what but I really want to hear more about what happens one way or another. I loved all the books in this series and this one opened up the path for more it was ended sufficiently but anyone who reads series can notice little things that weren't quite resolved by the end which means the author has more to tell in another book.

I enjoyed listening to this book. Lisa Gardner did a great job writing this book and the end wasn't easily figured out before you got that far. I liked that the main character was a recovering addict that was able to work around alcohol and not be drawn back into addiction...that may sound odd to most people but I believe it can be done in rl and I like that Lisa shows the possibility and how the MC deals with her demons by attending meetings. I think the author does a good job of describing the mental struggle of the MC as well. No that's not the main part of the story (I try not to post spoilers) but I found it made the story feel more real even though it is fiction. Hillary Huber does a great job reading this book and makes it easy and enjoyable to listen to. I thought she did well changing her voice for the different characters. yes you can tell it's her but it makes it easier to differentiate between characters when in conversation. I will definitely be keeping an eye out for mor books by Gardner. Thank you

No one is more shocked than Ginger Mitchell, former call girl, current PI, at how well this whole crime-fighting thing is going. In the short time since she returned home to Portland, she’s taken down an entire crime ring and exposed a corrupt police department. Not bad for her first year on the job. But it’s not like all that success made Ginger’s life easier. Hired hit men are after her. Darlene, the boss who killed her mother, is still at large. Ginger’s brother is missing.

I enjoyed listening to the first one and this one very much. I will definitely look forward to seeing the next Roseland volume come out so I can continue the adventure. I like that each volume closes as the MC solves a big case shes been working on throughout the volume. There are a lot of chapters but I enjoy listening to longer stories so it didn't bother me. It actually was more convenient to be able to make a stop while listening. Eric Ugland does a great job creating the plot and Candace does a great job at making the story come to life. I liked that the MC solves cases throughout the story and some help her get closer to the main case as well as helping people as she goes. I don't want to leave any spoilers so I'll leave it at that. great detective type myster thriller and easy to listen to for hours imo. Thank you
