Story
In my book, you will meet a little girl named Viola who ran from her past until she made a life-changing decision to stop running forever. This is my story, from a crumbling apartment in Central Falls, Rhode Island, to the stage in New York City, and beyond. This is the path I took to finding my purpose but also my voice in a world that didn’t always see me.

Could identify with mechanisms and patterns of domestic violence survivor... I find it so sad that this type of journeys are mostly travelled alone with so little support from the system and alienated by friends.... thank you for writing and exposing these points so ppl who have no clue about this particular journeys (dealing with a partner with serious memtal issues) can see that everyone deserve and need support and unconditional love. Amazing accomplishment with building a house with children. I cried when the dog got hurt by Adam. I hope the adult children have lots of gentle opportunities to make sense of all the insanity and abuse they ve witnessed and survived on the journey you ve describe in this great book. Cara I hope you are doing well and are able to inspire so many women who have lost hope through going endless battles like yours and mine I also hope police officers, nurses, social workers mental health clinics experience some kind of awakening reading your experience .. respect and Love to you and your beautiful children....
