It’s a good story. Definitely different. Not scary, just a little strange. It works a lot better having the novella or the photos with it. Otherwise it’s a little confusing. But I do recommend for a quick read/listen.

“Those two are gonna drown in their enormous names.” I came because of the narrator, Johanna Parker. Super happy I listened. Twilight, mixed with Harry Potter, tossed with True Blood! A+. I finished it within three days (if only I didn’t work, 😂). You should listen to it!

"The Program" is okay. I give it 3/5 stars. The written/spoken style of the book is fantastic. However: it's a little slow in some parts, didn't spend too much time in the Program, and I personally don't care for love stories-if it is a small part of the book it is okay-but that is what the book is all about.

Story
I didn’t ask for any of this. I didn’t ask to be some kind of hero. But when your whole life gets swept up by a tornado - taking you with it - you have no choice but to go along, you know? Sure, I’ve read the books. I’ve seen the movies. I know the song about the rainbow and the happy little bluebirds. But I never expected Oz to look like this. To be a place where Good Witches can’t be trusted, Wicked Witches may just be the good guys, and winged monkeys can be executed for acts of rebellion.

In The Book of Life, Diana and Matthew time-travel back from Elizabethan London to make a dramatic return to the present - facing new crises and old enemies. At Matthew’s ancestral home, Sept-Tours, they reunite with the beloved cast of characters from A Discovery of Witches - with one significant exception.
