Story
All of us long to know what life after death will be like. Best-selling author John Burke is no exception. In Imagine Heaven, Burke compares over 100 gripping stories of near-death experiences (NDEs) to what Scripture says about our biggest questions of heaven: Will I be myself? Will I see friends and loved ones? What will heaven look like? What is God like? What will we do forever? What about children and pets?

Great book, linking NDEs to scripture, that was good to hear. The only negative is the narrator changing his voice to be a girls voice, English accent, etc.

The author's voice is hard to listen to. He's very full of himself, I'm not concerned who your tour guides were in Brazil. Yes, you're special, you went to Brazil. The book is full of him and his life experiences, but not lessons, just how much he has.

Hearing it narrated by the folks the book is written about, or those who sounded like them is interesting. Lack of actual DDay landing stories, still a very worthwhile listen!

At the end of the last century, Johnstown, Pennsylvania, was a booming coal-and-steel town filled with hardworking families striving for a piece of the nation's burgeoning industrial prosperity. In the mountains above Johnstown, an old earth dam had been hastily rebuilt to create a lake for an exclusive summer resort patronized by the tycoons of that same industrial prosperity, among them Andrew Carnegie, Henry Clay Frick, and Andrew Mellon.

Historic Yellowstone National Park captures the most interesting moments in the park’s history, the slices of life in Montana and Wyoming that provide an idea of what life was like for those who chose to explore this gloriously beautiful corner of the United States. There’s the presence of Native Americans in the early years of the area’s history, the early explorers and expeditions, its debut as the very first national park, the explosive growth of tourism, and the people who made history in this astonishing and mysterious Rocky Mountain landscape.

We are in the midst of a story that’s still unfolding. And beautiful opportunities await. While I agree with the Senator, this book had far too many details not related to the story. He even repeats a story of his grandfather, perhaps to drive the story home. I liked hearing the behind the scenes he mentioned.

For generations, everything has been getting faster, better, and cheaper. Finally, we reached the point that almost anything you could ever want could be sent to your home within days - even hours - of when you decided you wanted it.
